Episode 493
TODAY’S READING
Do not love sleep, or you will grow poor; stay awake, and you will have food to spare.
Proverbs 20:13
I read this first today while I was prepping for our devotional, and you know the theme stuck out to me it does not let time pass; you don’t let fear keep you from losing sleep, and you will grow poor.
That’s just an analogy there in the sense of getting stuck in where you are not feeling like you have the ability to push past your circumstances and not being able to do so because you think that you don’t have the resources or the time to commit or anything like that. But this is much more than in our careers. But this can be a principle that we can take home with our health and our relationships and our finances, and especially our relationships with those that we love the most. And so it’s very easy to become comfortable in any position that you find yourself in, any relationship that you find yourself in relationships with your parents or with your spouses.
And it’s just a reminder that we need to stay awake, we need to stay hungry, we need to stay consistent and proactive and active with the people and the things that we are a part of and with the circles of influence that God has placed us in, because when we don’t, you know we will grow disattached from different blessings that God has for us. And so, take today as a reminder to connect with those you love. Take today as a reminder to reconnect or rekindle a career or a passion of yours, a project of yours, anything of the sort. Don’t love sweep, or you will grow up or stay awake, and you will have food to spare.
Prayer
Father God, we love you, and we thank you for this beautiful Wednesday. We thank you for the wisdom that you share with us. Lord, we thank you for the beautiful words in our Bibles. Lord, we look to you for guidance each and every day. We look to Jesus as the example that he has set for us in the way we are to live in the way that we are to respond to and connect with others. Lord, we take the time today to look at our relationships to look at our health to look at our careers, our finances, and to see where we’ve been comfortable. And Lord, we ask that you help us in pushing forward and in breaking those comfort zones and in going after those relationships and going after those projects. You bring dead things to life. And so, Lord, we look to you today for the strength to love you with everything, and we ask that you bless this beautiful Wednesday. It is your holy name that we pray. Amen.
