Episode 496

TODAY’S READING

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 73:26

We face troubles; we face different aspects of life that may put us in a pickle; he can be on high mountain tops, we can be in valleys, we can be celebrating, we can be mourning, we can be grieving, we can be dancing, and so life has a way of mixing up a lot of different emotions, a lot of different life experiences. And really the crazy part is that where you know, we can be experiencing is really low and someone very close to us can be experiencing a really big celebration or high, and so it’s humbling to remind ourselves that at any point or any day that can switch and we could be in the valley and or vice versa.

And so there are many times in which our heart might fail us, and that happens in the way we speak to people that happens in our communication at work our communication at home, but mainly it happens with little things. And we are easily able to give in to the little things, and we don’t think they’re a big deal, and they turn out to be a really big deal to God. And so I just wanted to hold on to the fact that my flesh and my heart may fail me, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. So even when my heart may fail, the strength of my heart is not mine alone, but that of my God. And the best part about all of that is that he is an awesome person to be the strength of my heart. That means that even when I feel like I can’t anymore, even when I fail myself, even when you know health can get in the way, career can get in the way, finances can get in the way, sin can get in the way.

The strength of my heart is not mine. But it’s that of my father, my Creator, the one that shows up for me day in and day out, no matter the circumstance, no matter what. So every single day, we try to be better versions of ourselves every single day. We try to be the best version of ourselves, but sometimes we fall short. And if that’s you today, your flesh and your heart may fail you are remember that God is the strength of your heart, and He is your portion forever.

Prayer

Father God, we thank you for being the strength of our hearts. We thank you that you are a father that shows up for us when the health report comes back when the career doesn’t pan out like we had planned. When our finances seem to be sticky. We look to you for our strength because you’re the strength of our hearts. You’re the one who pushes us each and every single day, and so we thank you for that. We thank you for showing up in our lives. We thank you for protecting us. We thank you for being our provider. We thank you for being the light in our lives, the joy of our life. And we thank you for just being an amazing father, an amazing friend, and an amazing protector. We love you with absolutely everything, and we ask that you bless this beautiful Monday. It is in your son’s holy name that we pray today and every day. Amen.
