TODAY’S READING

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength

1 Corinthians 1:25

This verse is so beautiful because it hits God’s character right on the head of a nail. It’s saying, you know, even if he was weak, it would be stronger than human strength, and even if he was a fool, he would be wiser than our wisdom. And we have never known God to be weak, never known him to be a fool. He has always shown signs of stability. He has never been a wishy-washy figure.

He has always been a being that we can count on. But even if he was a fool, he would be much wiser than us. And even if he had a moment of weakness, it would be stronger than our strength and I labeled today’s evil God as greater in every way. He is powerful. He is able, he is consistent, and he chases after us. He came down to show us that even when we were fools, even when we crucified the Son of God, He forgave us; he cried out, forgive them, Father, for they do not know what they’re doing. And that is, you know, the type of person, the type of God, the type of savior that I want in my life, and I know that you know the kind of person that you want in yours. You know, he is greater, and I will say it over and over again. And I wouldn’t change for the world. Because truly understanding that my power comes from above makes life that much better. It’s not my job to protect. It’s not my job to worry or provide. It’s not my job to fight. It’s his job. He took it on himself, and he came down to show us that he had the way of everlasting. He is our source of wisdom. He is our source of strength. He is the Almighty that protects, and he is the one that provides. So when I look at my life, and I look at the blessings.

I say thank you, Lord, because I know that it is not from my doing but because of his. When I look at the goodness of my life, I am reminded that it is not because of my merits that I get to live this life. It is not because of my doing that I’m surrounded by blessings. It is because he is such a good father that He blesses His children with everything that we don’t deserve. He has given me good health. He has given me a great family to lean on. And one that has been through a fire, one through one that has been, you know, pulled and pushed in different directions. But I get to see his goodness on the other side of that. And so I don’t know if you are in the middle of bliss, or if you’re in the middle of a valley, wherever you are.

The goodness of God surrounds you. His strength surrounds you, and it is not because of your doing that you are in those situations. And it’s not because of your doing that you get to live outside of those situations or in the full blessings that He pours out on us. It is because of His goodness and His goodness alone. He is there for us in the good times. He’s there for us in the bad times. And knowing that he is greater in every way reminds me that I don’t have to work for perfection because he is my provider. He is my protector. And it is because of that that I need a savior. It is because of that that I get to live life with my Jesus. It is because of that that I get to surrender my life to the one who’s love knows no bounds, and I am forever grateful that I get to live life with him at the center. And you are forever grateful for that too. I know you are; that’s why you tune in day in and day out because you know the life with God at the center is life and life more abundantly.

Prayer

Father God, we love you. We thank you for this beautiful Tuesday. We thank you for your wisdom. We thank you for your strength, Lord. We know that even if you were ever to have a day of foolishness, it would be wiser than our every day even, even if you were to experience a moment of weakness, it would be stronger than our strongest days. Lord, we look at our lives, and we look at your goodness, and we thank you for it. We thank you that our wisdom and our strength come from you. We thank you that you protect us that you provide for us. We thank you that we get to surrender our lives into your hands because you so love us generously. You pour out Your blessings over us; you walk us through valleys. You are with us celebrating on mountaintops. And Lord, we get to look around and look at the fruits of your love in our everyday life. We get to see your fingerprints and everything that we do. And Lord, we have grateful hearts. We thank you so much for everything that we have in our lives. We thank you for the roof over our heads and the food in our belly. No matter how big or small, Lord, it is a blessing from you. It is a blessing from the Father, and we thank you for it with grateful hearts and smiles across our faces with a thank you. We love you, and it is in your holy name that we pray on this beautiful Tuesday. Amen
