Episode 506

TODAY’S READING

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Proverbs 31:30-31

What I love most about this is that it targets two things that we feel or that, at least, I have felt to be so important in my journey so far. And that is charm and beauty. And it is nothing because, as we see, charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting. We age, and most of us age gracefully. Some of us have difficulty accepting aging, and I understand because of the way society is, but we do age, and beauty is fleeting, and charm is deceptive. It really just gets us out of situations, or really covers up something or pushes our agenda forward. But the reality is that neither of those two things makes us pretty women. Being a pretty woman is to honor our father to honor our Lord, someone who fears the Lord, a woman who is to be cherished is one that puts her family first, one that puts her legacy first, and that is a legacy of loving Jesus at the center. And so today, I wanted to pay tribute to all of the women of this show.

May we be women who are pretty not because of our beauty and not because of our charm, but because of the relationship that we have with our Lord because we get up every day and we choose to pray first because we listen to worship music on want to feel connected to the spirit because we pray without ceasing because we console with him or before anybody else because we find him for everyone else. Because we know that His love is eternal because his way is our own way because life is better with Jesus at the center, and we get to influence and encourage those around us, our children, our friends and our family, our colleagues at work and those that we are closest to we get to influence them all with the love of Jesus because we carry it first. And so today, we honor that in ourselves, and we also honor that in the women around us.

Prayer

Father God, we love you so much. And we thank you for this beautiful Monday, or today we take a moment to acknowledge that we are all pretty women, not because of our beauty, not because of our charm. But because Lord, we love you. We love you with everything in us, and we fear you. We thank You for Your word and thank you for your truth. We thank you for how you lead us and that you guide us, and He protects us. We thank you for a beautiful and blessed weekend. And we look forward to the week that you have planned for us. We ask that you guide us today; we ask that you continue to protect us. And we pray this all in your son’s Mighty Mighty Name, Amen.
