Episode 508
TODAY’S READING
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Psalm 143:10
I know that I have an issue with asking for help. I don’t do it a lot. I like to do things my way. I want to figure it out. I don’t like to bother people. And specifically, I don’t ask God for help. And I know it’s a problem because he’s there to guide me and protect me. And I think that I’m used to saying things like he has it under control or I know that God is going to work it all out. And I’m quick to just reflect on my faith rather than igniting my act of faith rather than asking my father to teach me actively. And the thing with God is that He is an active teacher. There are things that I don’t know today and have yet to learn about him. But the beautiful part is that he will continue to reveal Himself to me as I get older and as I get wiser, and the same goes for you and your relationship with him. He continues to teach us; he continues to shape us. He continued to he continues to reveal more about him. And so, my prayer today is that he would actively teach us something new today. I know that these prayers are daily and so let us focus on this Wednesday. Let us focus on this beautiful day.
May 11. What is God teaching us today? What is it that he wants to show us is what door he wants to open? What characteristic about him does he want to teach you? Is it patience? Is it strength? Is faith a grace? Is it mercy? What is it about the Lord that he has yet to reveal to you that he wants to teach you today, so I’m asking for him to do so in my life? I’m asking him for you to do so in yours.
Prayer
Father God, teach us, Lord, teach us more about you today and every day, Lord, we want to go deeper in our relationship with you. We want to go deeper into what we know about you, or do we want to get to know your characteristics. We want to deepen our faith in You, Lord; we thank you for everything that you’ve taught us to this moment. We thank you for all of the opportunities that you have given us. The blessings that you’ve poured over us. We thank you for your hand over our lives and the lives of our family members, and those that we love the most. But most importantly, Lord, we want to get to know a new side of you today. So show us something not just to open a door, not just to lean in a little bit closer, not just to read a little bit more of the Bible, not just in a specific direction so that we can continue to learn more about you or do you are an active teacher, and you are continuously guiding us showing us and shaping us for the future ahead of us. We thank you for everything you do for us—day in and day out. We love you with our entire hearts, our entire souls, all of our bodies. We pray this all in your son’s mighty and glorious name. Jesus, We love you with everything. Amen.
