TODAY’S READING

When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Proverbs 3:24

I want to make sure that we are a people who are grounded in peace. I pray that no matter what we face when we put our heads down on our pillows at night, we are full and overcome with peace. I hope that we understand the trust and the strength that we get to build with our relationship with Christ. We know that fear is a tactic from the enemy, and we know that he loves to attack us when we are weak. But we also know that our faith in Christ changes the atmosphere when we are faced with fear. So if you’re battling financial hardship, trouble in your relationships, or maybe a physical or mental mountain, remember that you can go to bed full of peace knowing that God has taken care of your battle. God is looking at your mountain, and he is willing to help you move it. 

He’s willing to move it for us. We just have to have the faith that we can turn to Him and ask Him to take it from us. Right now. I’m struggling at work because I have a lot going on. And my boyfriend Manny reminded me that I can really just pray about it. I can ask God to relieve me of the burden that I feel. But sometimes, I feel he doesn’t need to hear that. Or if I’m in the season for a reason. And so I know that God has me here. But the reality is that Manny was right. Maybe God does have me in this season for a reason. But it doesn’t mean that I can pray and call out to my father for help in releasing me from the burden that I feel in the moment. So I don’t know what you’re faced with, but I know that he is a good, good father, and he wants to listen to us. No matter if it is a complaint, no matter if it’s a prayer request. No matter if it’s a praise report. 

He just wants to hear our voice and so let us open our mouths today. Let us confess with our mouths everything that we need. From him, everything that we’re asking from him or anything that we just want to share with him because he is here to soak it all in with us.

Prayer

Father God, we thank you for a beautiful Friday. Thank you for the opportunity to get closer to you each and every day. Or today, we come in prayer knowing that you surround us in peace. We get to put our heads down on our pillows at night, knowing that you have taken care of our burdens. You have been taking care of everything behind the scenes. And we know that we don’t have to worry because you are handling this, whether that is happening as fast as we want to or slower than we expected. We know that you are at work and know exactly what you’re doing with us. We thank you in advance for moving on our behalf. We love you with everything in us, and we pray this all in your son’s mighty name. Amen.
