Episode 517

TODAY’S READING:

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

1 Corinthians 6:19

Often times we battle life alone. We think that we need to solve the world’s most challenging questions. We think happiness is something we can achieve alone, so we go looking for it in things, in places, in people.

The truth as we know is that we are are temples for the most high. We believe the Holy Spirit resides within us, so ultimately, our body is shared, and it is not our own.

Recently I have come to realize that in relationships, you have to weigh each other’s wants and needs in order for a healthy relationship to prosper.

The same can be said about our Spirit. If we are not our own, and we know that we share our bodies with God himself, we should be more careful with what we allow our bodies to consume and partake in.

We share our bodies; we respect them because they are home to God himself.

Now, truly knowing God is within us, I hope we are quick to call on him.

We shouldn’t try and solve life’s biggest questions alone. We shouldn’t go looking for happiness in things, in places, in people; rather, we should be looking to you. You are closer than our very breath; may we learn to lean on you more.

PRAYER

Lord, give us the strength to be better every day. May we always weigh our options, and may we always put you first. Lord, we pray to you knowing you live within our bodies; they are yours, so give us the4 strength to keep them pure, give us the strength to do right by you. We love you, we honor you, and we ask for strength, we ask for grace, and we ask for the specific thing we need in this season to get us through. We love you, AMEN!
