TODAY’S READING:
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
These past few weeks have been nothing but pain for our country—mothers, and fathers who no longer have their babies on this side of eternity with them.
Many social media posts circulate heavy opinions and political conversations.
It’s exhausted, and we cry out when it will all end, Lord.
Let me be extremely clear that these are my personal prayers that I publish for you all to join me.
Let me also believe that I know there is a deep need for change in our country.
But every morning, I fix my eyes on Jesus.
I saw some posts circulating saying, “we don’t need prayers; we need policy change,” and it just didn’t sit well with my spirit because while I agree there is a desperate need for regulation and change, there is always a need for prayer.
Why couldn’t my IG feed understand how important prayer was?
This verse gave me the answer I was looking for.
Prayer does change the atmosphere, and it does heal. In fact, this verse promises that God will heal our land. But what this verse showed me was that He is talking to His people.
If my people, who are called by my name…
We are His people. We have the power to change what we see. We have the ability to pray for our leaders, for the families, and the country. We, as a united front, can pray, and he promises to heal our land.
Yesterday we talked about how we love, and we trust, we trust, and we believe.
Today let us stand in unison, knowing that our prayers have the power to change. The rest of the world doesn’t have to pray, they don’t have to believe as we do, but we, as His called people.. have a duty to humble ourselves, seek His face, pray, and turn from sin. If we do this, He will heal our land.
PRAYER
Father God, we take you at your word Lord and right now, the nation is crying. We look to you. Lord, your word says that if your people humble themselves, you will heal our land. So, Lord, we come to you knees on the ground, hands in the air, asking you to hear our prayers. Comfort families empower our leaders with the ability to change and heal our land. We lift those that were sent to heaven, and we thank you for giving them a safe place to spend eternity in. We love you, and we pray to you today and every day, AMEN!
