TODAY’S READING:

And if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Joshua 24:15

What happens when a family or a community removes God from its values? It crumbles. The enemy is quick to attack it. It becomes vulnerable.

Today I want us to focus on the people and things we have the greatest positive influence over. Our homes. Our families. 

But from everlasting to everlasting, the LORD’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children.

Psalm 103:17

We can choose to bless our children and our children’s children if we choose to walk in the way of the Lord.

There are many little g gods that are flashy and cool: social media, addictions, the media, politics. Anything can steal us from God these days. We just have to be firm in the sense that we as a people have decided that our homes will serve the Lord. 

PRAYER

Jesus, we thank you for this beautiful Friday. Thank you for blessings on our generations to come. Thank you for protecting those we love the most. Today we come to you in prayer, asking that you continue to give us the strength. Remind us that no matter what steals our attention, we are laser-focused on our Jesus. May no harm come over the house or our families. It is in your holy name that we pray, AMEN!
