Episode 531
TODAY’S READING
If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.
1 Corinthians 15:13
This is one of those eight had to happen versus if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised, and Christ had to die. In order to go to hell, take back the keys and raise and be raised to life. Sorry three days later, it had to happen in order for us to live in the freedom that we get to live in today. And the thing with that law is that aid can be applied to us today. There are things that we do or go through in life that have to happen in order for us to move forward. That breakup had to happen in order for you to meet your future spouse, and that situation at work had to happen in order for you to quit your job and find something better. And there are many things that had to happen for you to get to where you are today. And it’s very easy for us to look at our lives backward. We can turn around, look back and see all of the things that had to happen in order for us to move forward. But the hardest part is having faith when it’s happening. Because, like the disciples, when Jesus died, they returned to normal day life they doubted they did not know or think that Jesus was going to come back, and they cried, and they wept, and they were depressed, and they had no idea that what he said was going to happen was actually going to happen.
He did say that he was going to be back three days later; he did say that he was going to be raised back to life. But once he died, it was so real. It was such a tangible pain that they forgot that he had promised them, you know, this miracle. And when we’re in real tangible pain, we forget that it is for our good that God is doing this because it has to happen for us to get through the season.
So whatever you’re facing today, remind yourself that it has to happen in order for you to move on to the next season. And so, I pray that the strength of God surrounds you. I pray that you see his face and seek His counsel. And I pray that no matter how hard it gets, you press forward and you remind yourself that whatever you’re going through has to happen in order for you to grow in order for you to become better in order for you to be able to turn around and say that was a moment in my life that made me the person that I am today.
Prayer
Father God, we thank you for stretching us. We thank you for growing us. We thank you, but nothing is easy in this life. We thank You that pain is only temporary, Lord, because we know that after painful seasons come joyous seasons, and we know that that is just the cycle of life and that is just the way our emotions work, and we know that you are in it all. You’re with us in the pain here with us in the glory. We thank you. We thank you that you continue to push us into growth, and you continue to give us the strength to become better people to become more like you and everything that we do. We ask that you watch over our careers, our families, our finances, and our relationships. We love you with everything in us. And then visiting your son’s holy name that we pray. Amen
