Episode 535
TODAY’S READING
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Ephesians 4:2
That paints such a beautiful picture of the love of Christ that He has for us, for you, and me; he gave himself up for us, for all of us. And I think that for a marriage to embody that same kind of love, you have to hold on to Ephesians chapter four, verse two, and other verses in the Bible that speak to love. And in our verse, today have to be completely humble and gentle, be patient, bearing with one another in love. And when I look to Jesus, I see a humble and gentle Savior. I see a humble and gentle friend, a humble and gentle father. His patients, he bears with us in love. And so, my prayer today is very simple. May I always mimic the love of Jesus with those around me.
May I go into my marriage today with that love at the center, and may He continue to be my guiding light. May he continue to be your guiding light. May you be dumb, gentle, and humble, and may you look at those around you and the relationships that you have around you. May you fortify those with love first and foremost because it is love that will make it through the day. We all have different opinions. We all have different sides of the aisles that we may sit on. And we all have different perspectives when it comes to careers, and it comes to finance when it comes to personal endeavors. But there’s one thing that sets us all apart, and that is the love of Christ, no matter where we are, no matter what arguments we’re having.
Jesus loves us; He loves you. He loves me. He died on the cross for us to give himself up for us. And the least that we can do is love each other in the same way that he loves us.
Prayer
Father God, we thank you for the love that you show us each and every day. Lord, you gave yourself up for us, your bride, your church. And together, we come together every day praying for you, looking for you. Looking for your fingerprints in our lives, looking for you to guide us every single day. And we thank you for that. Stay, we ask that you bless this chapter that I’m about to walk into. I thank you for blessing the marriage. I thank you for your blessing. Everything that you have given me, Lord, I promise, and we all promise to be good stewards of what you blessed us with. So I thank you for a beautiful week. I thank you for even in the ups and downs of health and the ups and downs of surgery and the ups and downs of relationships, and the ups and downs of marriage that we all come together looking for you. And so, I thank you for a blessed week. I thank you for an amazing weekend, and it is in your holy name that we pray. Amen.
