1 Lord, how many are my foes!
How many rise up against me!
2 Many are saying of me,
“God will not deliver him.”
3 But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
4 I call out to the Lord,
and he answers me from his holy mountain.
What I understood from this verse, and what I’ve realized the way we can apply it in our daily lives, is that we are always going to have enemies are many people who call us many things. They will say that there is no salvation for us in God because they disagree with our statement, even if their statement is completely outside of God’s will or God’s way. And they’ll call our godly ways of life on Christian like, and so many people will always have something to say about you so many people will call you something, but it says here, but you oh Lord are a shield about me.
My glory the lifter of my head, I cried aloud to the Lord. And He answered me from His holy hill. Here we see David, he is fleeing from his son, and he is crying out to the Lord. The psalms are really what are really some of David’s best writings. And he is crying to God that His enemies are out to get him; his enemies have so much to say about him. All these people have a statement made about him. But these statements are coming from other people. So he did not label himself as someone who was not worthy of salvation. Other people made that call on him. But it says here for you, oh Lord, our shield about me, my glory and the lifter of my head. So even when these claims were made against him that there is no salvation for him and God. He continued to press into his relationship with the Lord, the lifter of his head, cried out loud to Lord, and guess what? The Lord answered him from His holy hill. So, in today’s title, many call only one answer. It’s just a reminder that many people are going to call you many things.
Many people are gonna say many things, and then people are gonna have a lot to say about your life, the way you live it, what you’re doing with it, how you got to where you are today. Some of them will believe your testimony. Others will not believe it, but only one person will actually answer, and that is Jesus. Only one person has your best interests in mind, and that is God, so my message for all of us today is to continue to press into the ways of the Lord to continue to fight the good fight to continue to spread the gospel continue to spread the love of life, to continue to spread the reality, that God is good. He is very much real, and he is very much good. And he has all those in his best interest, and it is because of him that we get to have eternal life.
Father God, we love you, we thank you, and we honor you, Lord. We are excited that we get to dive deeper into your Word. We get to look at how David Cole to you, and we can mimic that. Lord. We know that many people are saying many things about us. Some of us have a hard habit harder than others, but Lord, we are always going to press into our relationship with you no matter what a person has to say about that. Lord, we continue to cry out to you, and we know that you hear us, and you answer us from Your holy hill from heaven above us. We love you. We thank you, and we ask that you bless this beautiful Thursday. It is in your saw this holy name that we pray. Amen.
