Episode 566
TODAY’S READING
42 Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” 43 Immediately, he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.
Luke 18:42-43
What really stood out to me and this first and from this story and similarly to the story of the lady with the blood infection, the one that touched his cloak and was healed by her faith. In both instances, their faith healed them. But in this particular instance, it says receive your sight. Your faith has healed you. The reason why I labeled to receive yours is that we are all hoping and praying. We are staying very faithful and steadfast to what we are asking for, the healings that we need to the financial breakthrough to the career choice, the new job, whatever it is that you’re asking for, praying for being so faithful about.
It’s not just the faith that healed him, but it says receive your sight. He physically had to accept the gift of sight on top of his faith, and so maybe today, it’s just a push in that direction. Maybe your faith has already healed you. Maybe your faith has already given you what you need. And it’s just the simple task of receiving yours and receiving what is yours. Receiving what God has given you. Being okay that you could stretch out your hands and receive it.
So Lord, today we’re asking for healing or asking for the strength to receive the healing. In the same way, we’re asking for financial breakthrough, and Lord, we’re asking for the strength to receive that those be open to the opportunities that you are sending our way that open to having conversations with others that are open to listening to when you speak to us through your word through other people through different songs and lyrics and worship music or whatever it is let the Holy Spirit continue to minister to us. So that we may receive or are being so faithful in praying for so faithful and hoping for and then so faithful and trusting you.
Prayer:
Father God, we thank you for this beautiful Monday. Lord, we love you, and we honor you today and every day. Lord, we know that you are the king of all kings and they you like you heal this man. You can heal us, just like you heal the lady with the faith to touch her cloak, Lord. We know that just by sitting in your presence every single day. We know that you hear us, and you see us, and we know that our faith has the power not just to heal us and free us from more situations. But it has the power to have other people look at our testimony and also praise us. So today, we’re asking just for that strength to get up and receive that which we have been praying for hoping for, and we thank you for being the kind of father that is so generous in giving us what we need. We love you, and we pray this all in your mighty Son’s name. Amen.
