TODAY’S READING

LORD, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.

Isaiah 33:2

Lord, be gracious to us. We’d love for you. That is the way that we should probably start every single prayer. Lord, be gracious to us. We’d love for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation, and time of distress. There is nothing truer, nothing more powerful than starting your prayers with those words. So let’s break it down or be gracious to us. We know that our father is a father of grace. He extends Grace at all times. We know that salvation comes through grace alone and not through our good works. And so we are just reminding ourselves when we say that the Lord is a graceful and gracious Father. Now the next part says we long for you. That’s a reminder for you that we need the Lord in our lives. We cannot do this alone. Then it says be our strength every morning. Another reminder that we cannot do this without him and that he has to be the one to supply the strength. We don’t look for strength in other people’s opinions. We don’t look for strength and other places.

We look for strength every morning in the Lord. The next thing says be our salvation in times of distress. This is the perfect prayer, especially in a moment where you need strength, in a moment of distress, in a moment where we meet the Lord. It is a moment to remind ourselves that not only is the Lord gracious, but we need him. Now only do we need strength, or we don’t need any other type of service; we need his strength. And not only do we need help away salvation in a time of distress, so today, let us remember that the Lord hears us and let us cry out to Him anything and everything that we need. He wants the big; he wants to little; he wants it all.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for this beautiful Friday. We ask that you bless it and that you bless the weekend ahead of us. Lord, we today pray that you hear us and be gracious to us. We long for you; Lord is our strength every morning. Continue to supply us with the power that only you could supply us with. Or we don’t turn to any other substance or person for that strength, but we know it comes from you. And so, Lord be our salvation in times of distress. No matter what we face today. We know that you are right there beside us. We thank you in advance for everything that you do for us, with a huge advance for your son. We love you all, and we pray this all in your mighty, mighty name. Amen.
