Episode 575
TODAY’S READING
As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.
His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.
As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming when no one can work.
While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
John 9:1-5
This beautiful story paints a picture for you and I that the things that happen to us are the cards that we are handed. They are never given to us because we did something because we deserved a bad hand, or sickness or anything of the sort, but always for the glory of God so that God’s work may shine through the situation. So that the testimony is larger than the actual pain that we go through. I can say from experience that when things happen, it’s very easy to ask, why me, Lord, why is it that these things are happening to me?
Why does my life continue? To be so hard and we can choose to stay in that position in the position of being the victim, or we can choose to put on the attitude of Vic door, so victory and that is understanding that will no matter what happens no matter what the cars that we are given. It is always for the glory of God and that we understand that there is a bigger testimony at play, even if we can’t see it in the moment. So our prayer today is to have the strength to see the work of God even when we don’t believe that he’s there because that is what gives us continuous strength to continue to push through even the hardest of seasons.
Prayer:
Father God, we love you. We thank you for that; you are there every single step of the way. And Lord, today we need a little more encouragement, Lord, knowing that you are there, knowing that everything that we’re going through and everything that we’ve ever been through and everything that we might go into in the future. We know it’s for the glory of God. We know that there is a larger testimony at play. We know that when we go through hard things, we can encourage other people who may not have as much faith as us that if we can do it, they can do it. And they don’t have to do it alone. But because they’ll see that we didn’t do it alone, that we did it with you by our side. We thank you for the opportunity to continue to share your glory with others. We love you so much, and we pray this all in your holy name. Amen.
