TODAY’S READING

27 Put your outdoor work in order and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.

Proverbs 24:27

We’re transitioning from the summer into the fall. This week is back-to-school week for the students here in Miami. And I’m sure wherever you are, you’re in that similar transitional period. And it is a short and sweet devotional this morning, but as we prepare for this next season, I wanted us to ensure that we were taking care of all aspects of our home in our lives. And in order to build a strong foundation. We cannot build on the sand; we have to build on rock, and spiritually that is the unmovable rock that is our God, our Lord. And in order to do that, we must ensure that our work outside of the home is taken care of like this says, prepare your work outside, get everything ready for yourself in the field. So that is everything outside of the walls of your home, your work, and your social media interactions, don’t let the world affect your mood and bring it back to the dinner table.

Don’t let those stressors of the office come back to your home because it will affect your family and the relationship roles that you love the most. And so we need to make sure that we’re good stewards. We are properly taking care of all that God has given us property taking care of our work, our careers, and our relationship with people outside of the home so that we can then come to this house and then be good wives, good husbands, good daughters, good sons. Whatever season you’re in, wherever you are living. Maybe you are with roommates. I love those roommates for many, many, many years. And in order to be a good roommate, you also have to be a good employee, a good co-worker, a good just a good Samaritan on the road. And so, let us take care of the work outside of the walls as we continue to prepare for this fall season as we can transition into new routines. And as we go back to school and we go back to work, let’s take care of those relationships so that when we come home, we can build a beautiful home that values relationship values, relationships with the world but also values relationships with those that we love the most. And so I hope that this is a great Monday for you.

I hope that we transition into a beautiful fall season. If you are fasting this season. I pray that you are enlightened with whatever God is speaking to you.

Prayer:

So the prayer for today. Father God, we thank you, Lord, for this beautiful Monday. God, we thank you for our families. We thank you for our health, and we thank you for the homes that we get to come home to; Lord, we want our house to be built on a solid foundation. We want it to be built with you at the center, and so Lord, we know that we need to take care of not just our home but the work outside of the house. So Lord, continue to bless us in our careers, continuing to bless us in the relationships with those outside of these walls. So that when we come home, we don’t bring in outside stressors. Or we ask that you take care of the battle; we know that you do it because you said that you had done it, so we thank you in advance, and we love you. We pray this all in your holy name. Amen.
