TODAY’S READING

8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Joshua 1:8

The takeaway is that we believe this full Bible, the verses that keep this book of the law on your lips, meaning we believe everything that is written in here, a whole thing. And the best part about that is that we can apply it to our lives. And because we believe everything that it says, we’re able to use this as our true north. Now because we believe it, we can also believe the promises that come with it. And those are the things that we should be meditating on day in and day out.

Every single moment that we get the opportunity to think about these thoughts, we should be doing so. And those are thoughts that if we need healing in our bodies, the Bible says that we are healed in the name of Jesus, and we can believe that we are wealthy, not because of what is in our bank account not because of what our careers dictate, but because we are wealthy with relationships and with health and with the different things that make us wealthy far beyond what money can provide. And when it says that we are whole and complete, we can believe that we are holding complete and that God made us on purpose for a purpose. And so we have callings, and we have a reason to be here on this earth. And when we feel less than this, this book tells us that we are more than enough. And everything that we need is in this book. It allows us to cast our anxieties on the Lord.

It tells us that we are above, not below, And so God is a good God. He is a great father. And if we would just press this book on our lips 24/7, And if we would derail our negative thoughts and bring them back onto the path of the Lord, we would have a prosperous and generous life. And so when we do that, and we follow the instructions in this book, we know that we will be prosperous in everything prosperous in our relationships, prosperous in business, and prosperous in our marriages and in our again, relationships with our kids, with our colleagues. With our employers.

Prayer:

Father God, we thank you for this beautiful Monday. Lord, we ask that you continue to bless us as we go about our days. We ask that you continue to give us the strength to focus on thoughts on what is good, Lord, to focus on our thoughts on your Word. To meditate on your Word. Lord, if we need healing in our body, we meditate that we are healed in your mighty name, Lord, if we need remembering that we are whole and complete, that we are more than enough where we pray that You give us the strength to meditate on those words today. God, we pray that we continue to live a life that is pleasing to you. We continue to live a life under your way, we know, and we believe everything that is written in this book. This is our true north, and we thank you for it. We ask that you continue to bless this Monday, and it is in your son’s holy name that we pray. Amen.

Hi, I'm Ali.
I want to encourage you on your faith journey!

I'm the coffee obsessed baker from Miami, FL who got too busy to find time to read scripture everyday. I knew my life was better with Jesus and I knew I wasn't the only one struggling with finding alone time with God every morning, so I put my dreams of opening a bakery aside and set out to produce a five minute daily devotional. What first started as an email chain, has now flourished into a beautiful community and I am so happy you are here!

MY TESTIMONY

We are a faith based community in pursuit of daily prayer. All it takes is five minutes - we know you're busy but He loves you still.
