TODAY’S READING

The voice of the Lord is over the waters;

the God of glory thunders,

the Lord, over many waters.

 The voice of the Lord is powerful;

the voice of the Lord is full of Majesty.

Psalm 29:3-4

It’s so important to listen to God, and a lot of the time, especially if you’re new with your walk with Christ, it’s hard to know when he’s speaking. Sometimes it’s even harder to understand. If it’s either speaking or if it’s just your ego that’s talking to you. What I’ve learned in my walk is that God speaks to you through people, to you through His word, and to you through nature around you. He is a whisper, and most of the time, and probably 99% of the time, it’s not an audible voice that speaks to you. Sometimes people say that they hear the voice of God, and sometimes it’s just an unclean, unknowing because the Holy Spirit resides in us, and He is the one who was constantly healing us, talking to us, giving us wisdom, letting us know which door to open and which one not to do so. So when you are listening to his voice, may you remember that he is full of Majesty. He can talk to you as easily as the wind when it passes by, as easily as it is through Instagram. God uses absolutely everything in this world to speak to you to get to you. Maybe it’s through this show. Maybe it’s through your pastor when he speaks on Sundays, whatever the case. God is constantly using everything around you to talk to you. Open your eyes, stay present at the moment, and I promise that you’ll be able to hear him. 

He speaks over the waters. He speaks over the thunder. He speaks over the mountains. He is the Lord of all creators of this entire universe. And he is there trying to speak to you, trying to talk to you, and it’s so beautiful to know that we have a God who is the creator of such big things, looking to have a personal relationship with each and every single one of us.

Prayer:

Father God, we thank You, Lord, we thank you that your voice is full of Majesty, we thank you that you can talk to us through people through shows on Netflix, through Instagram on our way to work through the winds in the air and the waves of the ocean. Lord, you talk to us; you continue to download into our spirit. You give us wisdom for today. You get this wisdom for this weekend, or we think that you are constantly and always looking out for us. You’re constantly in our lives; you are constantly trying to engage us in conversation with you. So, Lord, we look for you. We stay present in the moment, we try not to get distracted, and we look for your fingerprints in our lives. We ask that you bless us this beautiful Friday and continue to be with us this weekend. It is in your holy name that we pray today and every day. Amen.
