Episode 591
TODAY’S READING
All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.
1 Corinthians 10:23
In this verse. It says All things are lawful, but not all things are helpful. So really, the idea is just because you can do something doesn’t mean that it helps you, and just because something is okay to do doesn’t mean that it builds you. And so I was thinking of all the different things that could come down to, and for me, I think social media scrolling or aimlessly scrolling is something that takes a lot of time. So even though I can do that, even though I have this platform, even though I’m able to connect with other people, it does not mean that it builds me up; it doesn’t mean that it’s helpful for me. So I’m able to take people to take time off because I think a lot of us might get into that. We aimlessly spend our time scrolling on social media, watching too much TV, or just keeping our heads in the cloud without having a purpose for the hour ahead of us or the day ahead of you.
So today, let’s take time off from this endless scrolling. And let us prioritize being present, being present with our family being present with those we love the most, being present in the hobby, and being mindful that just because you can do something doesn’t mean that you should do something or that it is helpful. For you. So today, we are going to be praying that God continues to strengthen us and open our minds and our hearts. The things that we do that might not be building itself.
Prayer:
Father God, we thank You, Lord, for this beautiful Monday; we thank you for the time that we’ve spent with our friends and the time that we spend with our family, and Lord, we ask that you continue to build us up they give us the strength to have the ability to walk away from activities that do not build us up and that ultimately harmless in the long run, Lord. So let us be mindful of our time. Let us be mindful of where we spend our time and how we do so. Lord, may you continue to give us the strength to keep you at the forefront of our lives and at the center of everything we do. We thank you for this beautiful Monday, and we ask that you continue to bless us and that you bless those that we love the most. We pray this all in your son’s mighty name. Amen.
