TODAY’S READING

1 will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;

  I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

2 I will be glad and rejoice in you;

  I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.

Psalm 9:1-2

There is a power in recounting everything that God has done for us. When we look back at our lives and when we look at the times in which He had blessed us, when he came through for us when we never thought that it would happen. Those moments allow us to reconnect and to be thankful to come to a place of praise for our Lord. And I know that last week, we talked a lot about praise. We talked a lot about surrender. We talked a lot about love. And today, I wanted to go a little bit deeper into our praise.

This is the fall season. It is about to be Thanksgiving; before we know it, we’re going to blink an eye; it’s going to be November and all about keeping things, but today we have the opportunity to give thanks to the Lord for everything that He has given us. Today we have the opportunity to go back and recount all of his blessings and all of the deeds that he has done in our lives. And so that could be as easy as getting accepted to a dream school, going to class, and having a blessing happen to you and your grades. Maybe it’s your career getting a promotion that you didn’t think was coming and came out of nowhere. Maybe it’s in your relationship and a breakthrough with your spouse. Maybe it was getting pregnant after a season of infertility. Maybe it was provided through the form of purchasing a home when you did think that that would be possible in this season.

There are many ways that God continuously blesses us, and there are many good deeds that he does for us. Maybe he has blessed you in your health. Maybe you’ve had a couple of doctor’s reports that kept you a little bit weary or worried, but God pulled through, and he performed a miracle. Whatever it is. However, he has blessed you in the small and in the large. We will exalt Him; we will be glad we will sing his name to the almost high He is the King of kings, the Lord of lords, our Creator, our father, our friends, and the one that does the miraculous for us.

Prayer:

Father God, we thank you, Lord, that you continuously bless us. We thank you for absolutely everything, from the little moments to the big moments. God, we thank you for the miracles that you work in our lives. You are the God of miracles, and we are extremely humbled and honored to be a witness to your goodness. Or we will share your goodness with absolutely everyone that we come in contact with. We will recount the deeds that you have done in our lives. And in that and even giving you praise, we will continue to give you the glory, Lord, so that when people walk by and ask us why we are so happy, Lord, it’s because of you. And when they asked us how is the walkthrough valued with a smile on our face? We say it is because of our Creator, our father, our Lord, our friend, and our confident you. Thank You, Lord, for the continuous blessings in our lives. We thank you for the food in our bellies. And the roof over our heads. We ask that you watch over us on this beautiful Tuesday, and we pray this all in your son’s mighty name. Amen.
