TODAY’S READING
1 May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
Psalm 20:1
We have a prayer request in our hearts every single day. We have some needs that we need God to fill. Whether that’s a need for protection, that’s a need for prosperity, maybe that’s a means of changing careers. Maybe you’re looking for a new job; maybe you’re looking for a house; maybe you’re looking for some stability in your life, whether that is in your career or your health, every single day. We have prayer requests that sit right here in our hearts. And we don’t say them verbally; we don’t even talk about them. With those that we love because sometimes we might even be ashamed of the little thing that we’re asking for. Well, I wanted to remind you today that God answers, and God wants us to ask him for the little things; he wants us to ask him for the big things he wants to be a part of our lives. All of it, the good, the bad, the messy, the ugly, the imperfect, the incomplete, he wants to be a part of it all. And so when we involve him in those communications, we involve him in those prayer requests.
He knows he sees you, he knows what you’re looking for, but he also wants us to step out in faith and ask him So may the Lord answer you in the day of trouble. May the name of the God of Jacob protect you. I am praying that over you today. I am praying that over your needs. I am praying that over your life because maybe you’ve had this prayer request sitting in your heart for way too long. And today was the inclination and the realization that God is trying to talk to you and tell you I see you. I see what you need, and I’m going to deliver it because I answer you.
Prayer:
Father God, we thank You, God. We thank you that you reach us in the little places that we think sometimes our burdens are too small or too light for you. And you remind us that they are not. You remind us that you answer us, and you remind us that you protect us. And so, Lord, we thank you for that. We thank you that you are a good Father; we thank you that you are a constant in our lives. And we will do better about asking for the little things. So here are our hearts today. Look at our little prayer request, and we thank you that in the little you do so much. We pray this all in your son’s mighty name. Amen.
