TODAY’S READING

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.

Hebrews 3:1

We learn a lot about Moses, we learn about David, we learn about people that God used, and the stories in these Bibles that change us for good forever. I know that I love the story of David. I think that he is someone that I admire because he was imperfect, but he had a heart for the Lord. And Moses was brave, and he was not perfect either. He was a sinner. He had committed murder, and yet he was used to bringing a nation out of slavery, and so there are fantastic people that we look to in this Bible. Just like there are fantastic people that we look to the outside of the Bible may have great pastors that we look to or that we confide in and all of that is obviously perfect and great because we are asked to live in a community with like-minded individuals. But we never forget that the name above all names is Jesus. So we all share this holy calling to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. And may we remember that Jesus came down from heaven.

He came to bless our lives for the rest of our lives because what he did, bearing our sins on that crops, is give us direct communication with our father; no other person has done that. No other person will do that. That is Jesus’s role in all of this. He is the word term flesh. And he is the only reason why we get to have that direct communication with our father. So, man, we remember that as we go about our days, that Jesus is King, and he’s king in our lives, and we as a community have declared that in our hearts and in the way that we live life, and I hope that that sticks with you forever. I hope that you always remember no matter how far you may want to run, Jesus is Lord over your life and Overmind and over all of us as a community.

Prayer:

Father God, we thank you for your son’s Jesus; Lord, we thank you for his life. God, we thank you for his heart for us. We thank you that he forgave on the He bore our sins, that he was a spotless lamb that died to protect us and that does protect us but to grant us eternity with You, God, we love you. And we ask that you continue to bless us. We ask that we continue to look to a life that is pleasing for you, where we miss that, and where we fall short of that righteousness. May we snap out of it quickly, Lord, may we come out of that, and may we look for righteousness and all that we do. May we be in the right standing with you. So wherever we fall short, remind us that we have the glory of Jesus over us to write that wrong. And then may we have the strength to not have that wrong, be ridden again. So whatever we are holding on to, whatever shame we have, whatever addictions we hold, whatever sin we carry. Lord, we declare it all gone in the name of Jesus, for he is the name above all other names. We ask that you bless this beautiful day, and it is in your son’s mighty name that we pray today and every day. Amen.
