11 I am with you and will save you,’ declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 30:11

We all have a testimony; we all have a life before we knew Jesus, and afterward, he chooses with our busy days what I like to call ours before Christ days. And we have a story, a story in which Jesus found us, whether that was through media like this or if it was walking through some sort of church doors, whether that was in a conversation with a loved one, at one point in your life. 

You had the come to Jesus moment where you found his goodness; you found that he or life with him was much better than life without him, and you’ve come to the place where we understand that we need a savior and we need someone holy to save and we know that our God, he fights for us. He is not just our Creator, but he is our confidant. He is our person to go to; he is and where we should always run to when things happen in this life. And so the other day, I had a guest pastor come to my church, and she said that we all have an older brother; if you could picture an older brother, that’s there to defend you at any cost. And so she went on to describe that, as she said, a story that illustrated it so beautifully, and it’s stuck with me. I do have an older brother, and you have an older brother, and he is holy to save us. He is holy to come into every situation watching over us, protecting us, fighting on our behalf, and continuing to be a blessing in our lives. And he does that because He loves us. And he does that because he understands that one. We live lives for the Lord. He gets to be glorified in it, so wherever you are today, remember that you have an older brother, I remember that you have a perfect father, and they are holy to save us. We meet them in our lives because it makes life so much better.

Prayer:

Father God, we are just so grateful for you. We are so grateful for you that you continue to chase after our hearts, that you continue to save us from everything that we go through; you are confident you are the one that we run to; you are the one that we can combine and third when things happen and when it feels like all odds are against us. We know that Jesus is right there fighting on our behalf. He is right; there is an older protective brother, one that we can count on because he will always be there. He is holy to save your holy to save, and we need you both. Today is a reminder that life is so much better with you in it, and so for a second, we remember BC days, and we look to the present and the future, knowing that our life is so much better because you walked into it and changed us forever. We love you. We give you all of the praise and all of the glory; it is in your son’s mighty name that we pray today and every day. Amen.
