Episode 621

TODAY’S READING

12 The LORD Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled),

Isaiah 2:12

In this series, we’re going to dive into, as I mentioned, the things that keep us tied up, the things that follow us around, the fear tactics that we hold on to, the scary things and places that we don’t want to look. It looms around us, and it prevents us from feeling the glory of God. And something that we all may struggle with is pride, and in this verse, it is very clear that God will humble us. Humility is our biggest strength when it comes to living a life of grace living a righteous life. And so what we need to acknowledge is our pride. We need to look at it dead in the face and say that today, the pride will fall today. We no longer have to be always right. We don’t have to be the first. We don’t have to do things our way because we think that we are the smartest in the room—the most talented. We don’t have to allow our pride to keep us from asking for help in certain situations.

Pride could come in and harm us and not allow us to grow a community with the people around us. It’ll isolate us, thinking that we can do it by ourselves. We can do life alone because our pride tells us that until today we’re going to, as a community, pray over where we may be prideful and ask for that stronghold to be torn down. So I hope that we all have a fantastic Monday. I hope that we see God’s fingerprints through everything that we do. I hope that some of these things we’ll be talking about over the next two weeks can apply to us individually, and then we can stand up to them and tear down strongholds in the name of Jesus because He is the ultimate Redeemer. He is the string that we need every day, and he is willing to make a way in our lives when we see no way.

Prayer:

Father God, thank You, Lord, for a beautiful Monday. God, thank you that you continuously bless us, Lord, over the next couple of weeks. May we look at the things that tear us down or hold us back from your glory God; today, we give up our pride. If we struggle with pride, we give that to you. Let us be softer. Let us be filled with grace. Let us need help. Give us a circle or community of people that can help soften the edges that can continue to help us lift the heavy loads. Lord, we don’t have to do it all. We don’t have to be the strongest. We don’t have to be the smartest. We give all of that need. The fall of the pride is of control to you, and we release our pride today. And so I think you, we all think you. We pray this all in your son’s mighty name. Amen.
