Episode 631
TODAY’S READING
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts since, as members of one body, you were called to peace. And be thankful.
Colossians 3:15
I wanted to touch on the fact that God wants us to be in Unity with one another; he wants us to be in the right standing with our neighbors. And I wanted us today to wish nothing but the best for those people that we come in contact with day in and day out, but also those that we don’t. And so whatever it is that you do wherever it is that you go on a Monday, whether that’s to the office or if you drop the kids off at school, or you go to your local Starbucks, I want you to have this attitude of Unity. I know that we’re getting into election season, it’s an election year are getting into a season of really joy and gratitude, but little things can get in the way that separates us from joy, separate us from being grateful, separate us from peace, and really tear apart at our relationships.
So today, let us make it a point that we’re going to walk into November with the attitude of gratitude, like we say every year, and we’re going to walk into these next couple of months with Jesus at the core of our conversations. And that doesn’t mean that we talk about him every single day but that we show His grace and His love, and we extend that to everybody that we come in contact with. And so, let us put on the attitude of gratitude already. Let us go ahead and put on the armor of God; let us be in peace; let us be called to peace; let us be called to Unity, and let us today, especially today go out into the world with smiles on our faces and with the joy of the Lord on our heart that we show him to everybody we come in contact with. And we are a testimony for Unity, and may we be people who are called to peace; we are one body, and we are thankful for that. And so wherever you are today, today is a day of peace wherever you are today. Today is a day of Unity.
Prayer:
Father God, we thank you, Lord, for this beautiful Monday.
We ask that you take care of us, that you bless us, and that you protect us, Lord; they will be safe today. They are kids. Be safe today. May everything go smoothly. May you continue to keep our neighborhoods safe, Lord. This is your world. It is no one else’s. Today, and every day we give you our world so that you are the ruler of it. We surrender it all to you. And our Lord, we thank you for this beautiful season we’re about to walk into. We are going to be putting on the attitude of gratitude over these next couple of months and are going to be leaning into the joy of the season, which is your son Jesus and everything that you have done for us. So Lord, today we are a body, one body of Christ; we are called to Unity. So we are going to extend love to our neighbors, are going to extend peace, are going to extend grace. We’re going to have smiles on our faces for those that we work with, those that we come in contact with at our Starbucks those that we come into contact with at our children’s schools. We thank you for a Monday. Just like this. We honor you for praying the song your son’s Mighty Name, Amen.
