Episode 636
TODAY’S READING
That the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:17
I wanted to ensure that you were equipped to remember that you have been equipped for every good work. And we remember as a community that we have an obligation and a responsibility to this generation to continue to spread the good news. Every generation before us has had that same obligation and responsibility, and they have done a great job. The Bible can be found in every language, and it continues to reach new places as people continue to spread. The good news. Now the great thing about this generation is that we’ve been given the opportunity through technology to reach other people a lot quicker than past generations. And so, May we continue to fill our social media feeds and our different platforms with the good news of Christ. And how do we do that? We don’t just shove verses down people’s throats without any context, but we show how on Sundays, we go to church. We show how when our family gets together, we pray before a meal, or we can just talk about little things like that, and maybe you’re not into social media, and that’s okay. I think that we’ve all been called to some level of influence in our circles. And that doesn’t mean social media. That means that if you are a teacher, you have been blessed with the opportunity to pour and plant seeds into your kids. And if you are a nurse, you have the opportunity to have fellowship and ministry with your patients by just continuing to be there for them comforting your patients praying for them if possible. And in everything that we do, we have the opportunity to bring Christ into the conversation. So may this season be a season of celebrating the birth of Jesus. May we, Yes, purchase the gifts and, yes, sing to all of the Christmas music. And may we celebrate and put cookies out for Santa. But may we always remember that the season is to celebrate the birth of a savior and our generation has a big responsibility. To make sure that the next generation is equipped with the Word of God. And so Second Timothy chapter three, verse 17, that the man of God may be competent and equipped for every good work, and I truly believe that we have every tool that we need to make sure that this generation succeeds in passing the true truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth to the next generation.
Let us not water it down, and let us abide by what is written. Jesus was the word made flesh. So this season is a bigger reminder as to why it’s so important for us to be in our word, because if we’re not in our word, then do we really know Jesus? So ponder on that. Continue to keep time set aside to continue to learn and dive deeper into the word. And remember that this season is to celebrate the birth of a baby boy who threw up a sacrifice everything for you and for me.
Prayer:
My God, we thank You, Lord, for this beautiful Monday. Thank you for sending your son for us, God, and so this season, we continue to put Jesus at the forefront of our conversations. This season is all about Jesus, that we not walk away from that man we celebrate with those that we love. And we continue to laugh and cherish these moments and these memories of May our lives be a testament to the goodness of God. And so, Lord, Today we ask that we continue to strengthen our ties in the word because God Jesus was the word made flesh. So we know that we need to know the word if we really need and truly want to know Jesus. So we thank you for that opportunity. And thank you that you’re always there. Growing in this deepening your relationship with us and continuing to bless us in our daily life. We ask that you look over us. We ask that you answer the prayers that we talk about and those that we don’t talk about. We thank you, and we pray this all your son’s Mighty Name, Amen.
