46 Once more, he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum.

47 When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death.

48 “Unless you people see signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.”

49 The royal official said, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”

50 “Go,” Jesus replied, “your son will live.” The man took Jesus at his word and departed.

51 While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living.

52 When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, “Yesterday, at one in the afternoon, the fever left him.”

53 Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” So he and his whole household believed.

54 This was the second sign Jesus performed after coming from Judea to Galilee.

John 4:46-54

 I understand that God is speaking to the people here who are saying that when they see signs and when they see wonders, they would believe, but we live 2000 years beyond this time. And we know that even if we don’t see signs or wonders right in front of us, we can believe because of the stories in this Bible that have been passed to us because of the miracles that Jesus performed. And what we can be is a people that even if we cannot see the miracle in front of us, we can ask God to heal our friends and family members. We can ask God to heal us in different circumstances. And even when we are not in the same room as that person, God will respond to us the same way that he responded to this person, which is, go on; your son will be healed. So God is looking at all of us today and says go on with your life because you are healed. Go on. Your mother is healed. Your sister is healed. Your brother is healed, your husband is healed, and your child is healed. And sometimes that’s hard to listen to because you are fighting battles in the flesh that make you want to believe otherwise. But no matter the outcome of our battles, we know that God is a healer. We know that God is fighting. And we know that God is not just fighting for you but fighting for the greater testimony that comes out. Because we know that through our testimonies, others can be saved as well. So no matter what you’re facing today, I hope we have strength in our faith and strengthen faith in the unseen. So even when we don’t see the miracles of God. May we continue to have faith that he is there working on our behalf because we know that he is good not just today but every day.

Prayer:

Father God, we thank You, Lord, for this beautiful Advent series. Lord, I am so excited to go over the different miracles that Jesus performed that this son was healed Lord in an instant because he asked because he believed in his heart that Jesus could heal him, and so a lot of us underneath the sound of my voice are coming to you with our petitions that our prayer requests are we asked him to heal us. We believe in everything in us. We know that you’ve already done the work. And so we are just giving it and surrendering it to you. We thank you in advance for always being willing to heal, for always being willing to fight on our behalf, are always putting our best interests first. We thank you, and we pray this all in your son’s Mighty Name. Amen.
