Episode 665

TODAY’S READING

Jesus Walks on the Water

45 Immediately, Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to Bethsaida while he dismissed the crowd. 46 After leaving them, he went up on a mountainside to pray.

47 Later that night, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and he was alone on land. 48 He saw the disciples straining at the oars because the wind was against them. Shortly before dawn, he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them, 49, but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, 50, because they all saw him and were terrified.

Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” 51 Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed, 52, for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened.

Mark 6:45-52

In this story, he was supposed to walk past them. But when he saw that they were terrified. He changed, he pivoted, and he got into the boat. He said due to fear in his eye, he revealed himself to them. And I just wanted it to kind of put that in perspective with our life. God is working every single day on our behalf on behalf of the person to your right and your left. He is working on behalf of everybody. He has the mission, the greater mission, and we are all played a part in that. But God is also a personal father; he stops what he’s doing. And he gets in the boat with you when you’re scared. And He reveals Himself to you when you have a moment of fear. And so we have a very big God with a big mission, or we have a very intimate father. Someone who wants to build a relationship with us. So whatever you’re going through, whenever you’re going through that, whenever you’re paralyzed by fear, God will get in the boat with you. And the wind will cease, and the waves will stop. And our miracle-working father, that can walk on water will get on a boat when he doesn’t have to because he can walk on water. But we’ll get inside the boat and will comfort you in the seasons of fear. So if that’s you today or view in the future, God is a God who will cross the ocean so that you won’t drown and love that lyric that’s from gyro from Maverick city music, and I’m going. I took that little line today. And it’s all to them. He will cross an ocean so that you won’t drown. He will get in the boat so that you’re not fearful of the season that you’re in.

Prayer:

God, we thank you, Lord, for a son who comes down from heaven, Lord, to meet us where we are. God Jesus could walk on water. Yeah, he’ll get into a boat to make the wave stuff to get us out of a season of fear. I don’t know anybody on this planet who would stop everything from getting inside the boat with us. So I thank you for that. Thank you for our personal relationship with Jesus with you, Lord. I thank you for the light of communication. We get to know you more and more every single day. I think that you continue to reveal your character and the stories of this Bible Lord as we continue to prepare our hearts for Advent. I ask that you continue to reveal to us deeper revelation about you. Thank you in advance for everything that you do. We love you. And we pray this all in your son’s mighty name. Amen.
