Episode 670

TODAY’S READING

4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

Galatians 4:4-5

It really is a miracle that not just that Jesus came, not just the actual physical act of being born, but the actual emotional act that God lived a full life and that he looked at us. He said that we were enough to endure the pain that he went through. Jesus and his commitment to us so that we can be adopted into the kingdom of heaven is something that is obviously unparalleled. And nothing on this planet can compare to that level of love, and it’s a love that God gives us freely. And so this Christmas season, as we celebrate his birth, we remember that we’re not just celebrating the birth of any ordinary baby, but we are celebrating the birth of a savior, one that sacrificed absolutely everything so that we may be adopted to sonship so we can experience the miracle of inheriting the kingdom of eternity with our Father, and with Jesus as our brother, as we go about our days. And we keep that at the center of our hearts, remembering that there is a miracle. And the miracle is that God lived a full life and chose to sacrifice himself for us so that we may have sonship.

Prayer:

Father God, we love the Lord and thank you for this beautiful Friday. Thank you for your Son Jesus, and we thank you for this Christmas season. Lord, we continue to grow deeper in our relationship with you; we promise to make this year the year that our prayer life multiplies, Lord, because we know that keeping you at the forefront keeps us in a state of pure joy. We can see your fingerprints. We can see you. We can see everything you’re doing when we continuously keep you at the forefront of our conversations. So we are excited for the upcoming year. We’re excited to have the opportunity to get to know you deeper. We love you and pray this all in your Son’s Mighty Name, Amen.
