There Is More To Learn

TODAY’S READING

9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.

Proverbs 9:9-10

What stood out to me here is that it is a nugget of wisdom for us to use as we get ready for the upcoming year. But the reality is that we can always become wiser. A righteous man can always increase, and learning and the fear of the Lord is just the beginning of our relationship with God. We can still go deeper with him. There is a lot more to learn. And that gets me really excited for the upcoming year because I know that every year we work towards increasing our prayer life, we want to get grow deeper with God. We want to get right with our morning routines. We want to make sure that we’re putting prayer first. But this verse continues to prove that in everything that we do and every time we learn more about God, and we learn the revelations of God, there is still so much to learn. There’s still so much insight that the Holy Spirit can deposit into our spirits, and that continues to develop over time. So if this gives me anything, it gets me excited. It gets me excited for the year 2023 when I know that we are going to continue to grow deeper in our faith. And I know that God is going to continue to give us revelations that will talk straight to us in different moments of life. The best thing about the living and breathing Word of God is that I can interpret it one way, and it can affect me in my life. 

Today one way, and that same verse six months later, can speak to me in another way. It is ever-evolving, get always constant; it does not change. Yet. The levels of revelation that come with every verse and every story, and every miracle can continue to deepen. Different stories in the Bible speak to different seasons of life in different ways, and it’s the same story. So, take this first, take this wisdom; take this proverb as a reminder that if you give instruction to a wise man, he will be wiser. Meaning if God continues to reveal things to us, we will only continue to grow deeper in our relationship. It doesn’t mean we weren’t wise before. It just makes us wiser. And in the same way, it doesn’t mean that we didn’t have a deep relationship with God before; it just makes the relationship deeper. So I hope that gets you excited for the upcoming year, and I hope that you are eager and ready to learn more about God.

Prayer:

Father God,  we thank You, Lord, for this beautiful Tuesday. And thank you for the opportunity to get to know you more, to go deeper in our faith to grow deeper in our wisdom or in our relationship with you, that we thank you that you deposit into our spirits. They speak straight into us. And thank you that the different miracles and stories in this Bible Lord speak to us in different seasons. Yet they are always constant. They are never changing yet always deepening our relationship with you. We thank you for the words in this book that we get to live by. We love you. We ask that you bless us on this beautiful Tuesday. It is in your son’s mighty name that we pray today and every day. Amen.
