Episode 675

TODAY’S READING

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

Psalms 42:1-2

I love this so much. It is a deep sense of prayer, a deep sense of longing and craving for our Creator. And I wanted us to close the year with that in our hearts. Because no matter what we do, where we go, the places we see, the things that we do, and the people that we interact with. None of that would be possible without the longing and craving that our Creator put inside of us. You see, because he made us, we crave him, and he also made us live in relationships and the community. And God made Adam; he looked at him, and he said, It is not good for man to be alone, and so he made Eve because there is an importance in yes matrimony more so in relationship with one another. There is such importance in the community because Adam and Eve multiplied and multiplied. So today, we get to have communities of brothers and sisters, cousins and friends, and co-workers that make life so much better. So as we go into 2023, I hope we keep relationships at the center of our lives. Hope that we make community and effort. I hope that we get out of the house more and that we get to interact with others hope that we go deeper in our relationship with God and we go deeper in our relationship with those around us so that we can get all of the joy of the life that our Creator soul longs for us to have. And then I hope that we grow so much deeper in our prayer that we are satisfied that we’re no longer thirsting for God because we get a dose of him all the time, every day, because we keep him at the center. We keep listening to worship music, we read the Bible.

We don’t stop with our five minutes, but we go deeper in our prayers before going to bed, in our studies, wherever possible. So we get plugged into communities that continue to pour into us. And I hope that it all pays out because at the end of the next 12 years, we’re going to look back at our lives and see how far we’ve grown, and I know that if we keep praying first, we’re gonna see a significant change in US long term. So like a deer pants for streams of water. So I pray that this next year, we are more hungry and more ready to grow deeper in our relationship with the Lord and deeper in our relationship with those around us. So with that, I wish you guys the best new year ever. And I thank you for tuning in next week as we kick off 2023 together.

Prayer:

Father God, we thank you, Lord, for this amazing Friday, God. It is going to be a great day; I can feel it. I know that this weekend is gonna be a fantastic weekend. And we are going to welcome the new year with open arms. Lord, we thank you for everything you’ve done. In 2022 we thanked you for everything you’re going to do in 2023, Lord, and like a deer pants for streams of water, Lord, our soul craves you. And so, in 2023, We’re going to go deeper in our faith. We’re going to go deeper in our relationship with you. We’re gonna go deeper in our relationship with others. You created us, so we created You, and You created us to be in community, so we crave that to thank you for that longing that you’ve put in our hearts. We thank you for all of the unique elements that make us what you made in us. We pray that this is a great year who pray and we think for everything that we’ve already gone through. We love you. We pray this all in your son’s Mighty Name, Amen.
