TODAY’S READING

16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

2 Timothy 3:16

We know that if we want to hear from God, if we want to be taught by the Lord, and if we want to be teachable, we need to look to what the Word of God says. And so it says that all scripture is breathed out by God, and it’s profitable for teaching for reproof, for correction, which is a big one, and for training in righteousness. And so as we take a deeper look this week as to how he speaks, the burst, of course, is through the Word of God, and so we know that if we are in a season that we cannot listen to Him if we feel like God is far from us if we feel like we cannot feel him in our lives, then we need to be asking the question, are we in our Word, and I will be the first person because I’m always so honest and transparent here with you. I am the first person to tell you, yes, we are celebrating 741 episodes together. We are about to complete three years of this podcast. There have been many, many prayers in between, but I would lie to you if I didn’t say that I could use more time in my Word like I know that you could too. And that’s because the Word gives us life, and we can listen to a God needs us to do when we read His Word. And so I encourage us all to take some additional time in our lives. Carve out an additional five and 10 minutes; some may be a longer morning routine on the weekends.

When you have more time, if you’re running around during the week, dive into what the Word of God says because if you’re far from him, it’s probably because your Bible is far from you. And so, if you don’t have a physical Bible, order one today, and if you have a cell phone, download the Bible app and get into your Word. And when we do that, we’ll listen to what God has to say. So if you want a story like Moses’ words, God just spoke to him. Read your Bible because he will speak to you in that way. And so, if you don’t know the story of Exodus, I would encourage you to read it; if you have kids, I would encourage you to show them the prince of Egypt. It’s a beautiful film, one that I watched growing up and loved, so I hope that you guys have a beautiful Monday and that you’re excited for this series as we get together to honor what Jesus did for us. This is Holy Week as we prepare our hearts for Easter. And I just know that we’re going to be blessed if we just continue to keep our communication with the Lord at the forefront of our lives.

Prayer:

Thank You, Lord, for this Monday. Thank you for your word. It is alive today. It is breathing, and it can teach us it can correct us. It can help us and shape us to be righteous people. So we thank you for that. We think that you speak to us through it. And we promise it’s about more time into getting into our words so that we can listen to more of you. We love you. We honor you, and we pray this in Your Son’s holy name. Amen.
