Episode 744

TODAY’S READING

For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1:21

God does speak to us through prophecy. And a lot of people don’t necessarily know how the Bible was written. So I’ll give you a quick crash course. But it was not produced by man alone. It was written by a man and really by 40 men, but God breathed out the word, so they were riding under the influence of the Holy Spirit. So we know that driving under the influence is illegal. And that’s because when we’re under the influence of something, we are no longer in control of our right mind. We are being influenced by something else, and in the case of a DUI, it’s usually alcohol or some sort of substance. Now, texting while driving is also illegal. Fine. Well, because you are no longer in control of the car alone, your attention has been switched to the phone. So when you think about the Bible, I like to describe it as the word was written under the influence of a  WUI, there are said to be 40 Different authors, and 40 of them were under the influence of the spirit when they were parts of the Bible. And what was produced was the perfect story from cover to cover of God. So if you want to hear from God, you have to listen to what the prophets that came before us had to set because, like this first set, no prophecy was ever produced by the will of men, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. So if you want to know what God has to say, take a look to see what the prophets had to say because that was God speaking through these men, and that was all penned for us to read along.

I hope you take some time to dive deeper into your word like we said on Monday; take some time this month because it is the month of Easter. It’s an important month for us in our faith; tomorrow is or would have been the day he was crucified. Tomorrow is a sad Friday for us. It’s Good Friday because we know that something good happened, but it is sad because, at the same time, Jesus did bear all that pain, all that sin, all of those lashings, and the gruesome killing that was that happened on the cross so that he would then be resurrected on Sunday and we don’t see the full picture because we know that Sunday is around the corner. Before the disciples and for the people at that time, Friday was extremely permanent. It was something that they would have never understood. Although Jesus did mention it, he did say it a couple of times. It was finite for them because God died. Jesus died on the cross. And so there is a Sunday coming, and we understand that but read what the prophets had to say, get into your word, and listen to the Word of God so that you, in return, can see him all around you in your life as he speaks through you,  through His Word.

Prayer:

Father, God, Lord, thank You for this Thursday. We thank You for Your Word. We thank you for the prophets that you sent. We thank you for the words that you gave them, the words that they penned for us so that we would understand the scriptures that came before Jesus for telling his story, and now that we live on the other side of Sunday, we know that Sunday is around the corner. We understand the miraculous event that happened this week. 2023 years ago. we thank you, we love you, and We pray this all in your son’s mighty name. Amen.
