You're listening to the my morning Devotional podcast, episode 1025. Today's Devo is called humility recognized. Hey, there.

00:00:10.486 --> 00:01:45.209
We're the Aleskis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning devotional podcast. Well, it's finally Friday, everybody, and we have made it to an incredible end of an amazing week. Lauren, you've done good, sis. Thank you very, very. One more day. I feel humbled. I don't know if I can get any more humbled at this point, but you've got a great verse today, and I just say, let's jump into it as we finish out this great week. Let's do it. So, the verse for the day is James 410, and it says, humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. Amen. And it was funny, you started in yesterday's episode to sort of go into this, and I was like, we're gonna talk about that tomorrow. Wait, I almost spoiled today. You almost spoiled today's podcast. But, no, it's funny. But what we were saying is that exalting at the proper time, at the right time, can only come from God. And the truth is, you can work your tail off. You can promote yourself on social media. You can become a content creator. You can do all these things. You can work three jobs, and you can supply enough in your life to where you feel exalted on your own. You can do all of that, but the proper exalting in your life. And what I mean by exalting is not that you're big and famous and you're where you want to be. That's not what I mean.

00:01:45.311 --> 00:02:07.534
It's that blessing from God that those prayers that you've been praying, the dreams and desires that are on the inside of you that only God knows about, seeing those come to life. That's what I'm talking about when I say exalting. But those can only come from God at the appointed time, and that is in God's timing. Yes.

00:02:07.653 --> 00:02:41.163
So if you want to make it work on your own. Okay, you know what? Try it. Yeah, but that anointing of God's presence and God's hand may not be on it. Yeah, and that's. No, it won't be on it because you're doing it in your own works. Exactly. And so that's where you need to recognize, okay, I have to become humble, and I have to lower myself under God and under his hand and under his timing. I have to become low, and I can't become prideful in a sense. And this is just to wrap up this whole week, right?

00:02:41.204 --> 00:02:51.500
I can't become prideful, in a sense, to compare myself to what others life looks like. Can't become prideful, in a sense, to say, okay, but what she has or what he has, that's what I deserve. That's becoming prideful.

00:02:51.651 --> 00:02:55.211
Or, you know, I really deserve what they have.

00:02:55.268 --> 00:03:45.973
No, we're too humble for that. We've humbled ourselves for that. It's whatever God thinks we deserve. That's what we deserve. Whatever God sees is fit for us. That's what we deserve. That's the humility God wants to see on the inside of us. And when it's the proper time, when God sees it's the proper time, that's when he will exalt us. And here's the thing. You may think this is really cute in theory, Lauren, and this sounds awesome, but, like, I've been waiting for a long time to see this, and, like, when's it gonna happen? You have to remember and remind yourself, God cannot be anything other than good, and God cannot be anything other than faithful. It is who he is. It's how he operates. It's like asking water to be anything but water. It's what water is. Water is going to be water. God is going to be faithful. God is going to be good. It is who God is. He can't operate outside of that.

00:03:46.054 --> 00:04:18.252
So even if you haven't seen it in your time, hold on to the fact that he is faithful. Hold on to the fact that he is good, because he cannot operate outside of that. Now, you can operate outside of your faith in God, and you can operate outside of your trust in him, but God's not operating outside of his faithfulness and trust in. That's just who he is. That's so good. And so that's what I mean this whole week by don't become prideful. Stay humble. Stay lowly. And again, if you point to people in the Bible, Gabby, think about Joseph.

00:04:18.427 --> 00:04:25.651
Think about how his whole life he could have become prideful like that. But he stayed humble. He stayed lowly. Think about Esther.

00:04:25.827 --> 00:04:51.882
And it's more than just the humility. Think about when God decided it was the right time, how he exalted them, and he appointed them in the most beautiful high places to be. And so fix your mindset. Make it a meek mindset. And may we all find the strength to stay humble in our everyday lives. Let's take it one day at a time. Let's not put ourselves in the future and try to stay humble a year from now. Take it one day at a time.

00:04:51.978 --> 00:05:16.016
Keep that meek mindset about you, and let's fix our mindset and let God exalt us and appoint us at the right time. That. I have no words. That was so good, Lauren. I've been, like, wrapping. I just wrapped up theology basically in one. You just wrapped up that whole. I think you wrapped up the whole week really well. I'm sitting here thinking, oh, I can add on to that. I don't want to add on to it.

00:05:16.079 --> 00:05:45.971
You know, it's like a perfect dish. And you're like, oh, I can add a little. I don't want to add anything to this dish because what you just said was really. It was profound. Thank you. And so I encourage you, if you're a listener today, any question that you have about the Lord, I think Lauren just summed up a lot of it. It's his character. It's part of who he is. It's who he is. So maybe listen back to this podcast again. Go back to Monday and listen to this again, because this was a profound week. This was a powerful week. It was simple, but it was deep and it was spot on. And it's needed for today. It's needed. It's really needed.

00:05:46.048 --> 00:05:56.355
So we can go on and on about this, but let's pray. Let's cover this week in prayer. Cover the listeners in prayer as now we start to walk in and think in humility.

00:05:56.459 --> 00:06:11.060
Absolutely. Dear Lord, we thank you for who you are, God, you are faithful and you are good. And no matter what we feel, God, you cannot operate outside of that goodness and faithfulness. God, so we thank you for that. And, Lord, we just pray for the listeners right now.

00:06:11.091 --> 00:06:59.153
God, some people are going through some tough times. God, some people are facing some real struggles. And the thought of coming humbly before you and submitting themselves to you, that's a tough thing to get their brain around. So, God, I just pray for right now, those listening, God, give them wisdom. Give them insight. Speak to them, Lord. Point them to the right person. Point them to the right verse. God, that can give them insight on what we are speaking to today. But God, I just pray right now, give them. Give every listener wisdom and insight into the idea of humility and what your word says. About humility, and also the idea and insight into being exalted and appointed at the right time. God, we are just honored to even serve you, God. So make us humble and appoint us at the right time when you see fit. God. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen.

00:06:59.613 --> 00:07:03.108
So there you have it, your five minute daily dose of heaven.
