You're listening to my morning devotional podcast, episode 1037. Today's devote is called Jesus forgives. Hey there. We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Good morning, everybody, and happy Tuesday. I hope that yesterday's devotional blessed you as much as it blessed me, and that you've been able to feel God's love and understand more about God's love as we are continuing to talk about just foundational truth about our faith. Because we are actually getting this from some of the messages that we've gotten from our listeners. And so we, we just encourage you guys, keep texting us on our text line, keep commenting, because we actually want to hear from you and see how we could create some of these devotionals based on what they want to hear and want to not hear, but learn. Yeah. And so keep doing it.

00:01:06.635 --> 00:02:20.122
And today, again, we have Stephanie, and she's going to do another great one. So take it away, steph. Let's do it. So, yes, we are talking now about Jesus forgiving. And the verse that I want to talk about is Ephesians one six seven to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the one he loves. Throwback to yesterday's podcast about love in him. In Jesus, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavishes on us. So that is the foundational truth that Jesus forgave us of our sins. You no longer have to live in shame anymore of your past. You no longer have to be in the bondage of fear anymore because of your past decisions. If you made mistakes in the past, God has forgiven you. If you feel shame because of what you've done in the past, and you have declared Jesus as your lord and savior, and you have asked him for forgiveness, then it's done. The job is done. He's forgiven you those past mistakes. It's done.

00:02:20.298 --> 00:02:38.442
You can walk in freedom. You can walk knowing that Jesus doesn't hold it against you. He doesn't look at you and see your past. He doesn't hold you to your past. He sees you as a new creation. He sees you as a whole new person. Who you were yesterday is no longer who you are today. Yeah.

00:02:38.538 --> 00:02:57.199
And that is such a hard thing for our brains to accept. It's hard for our flesh to accept. So then allow your spirit to accept it. Yeah, allow your spirit to have faith that you have been forgiven and that your past is no longer held against you.

00:02:57.312 --> 00:03:00.991
You can now walk in that freedom again. It takes faith to believe that.

00:03:01.087 --> 00:03:07.789
Just like it takes faith to believe that Jesus loves you. It takes faith to believe that you're, you're forgiven of your sins and forgiven of your past.

00:03:07.951 --> 00:03:22.373
And it may take time for the people around you to accept that as well. But you can walk in the truth knowing that you have been forgiven. Walk humbly in that, that God has wiped your slate clean.

00:03:23.114 --> 00:03:56.689
If you have accepted Jesus as your lord and savior, then you can walk in that truth. And if you don't know what that means, then go to a church and find a pastor and ask them, how can I accept Jesus as my lord and savior? If you don't know what that truth is today, text your pastor today and tell them, hey, what does that mean for me to accept Jesus as my lord and savior? How can I do that? And then follow the steps? Because walking in redemption is so freeing. Walking free from your sins is a beautiful life to live.

00:03:56.801 --> 00:04:00.298
Trust me, you will never have to go back to who you were.

00:04:00.425 --> 00:04:14.879
Goodbye yesterday. It is gone. You are a new creation and you don't have to work for it either. Forgiveness of sins is freely given to you because Jesus loves you and because Jesus wants you to be free of that. So walk in that truth today.

00:04:15.032 --> 00:05:21.480
I love that yesterday we are loved and today we are forgiven. Amen. And because of that, we get to live a free life. Amen. Steph, can you pray for us? Yes. Let's do it. God, I just pray for every person that still struggles with the past, that still struggles with those mistakes that can't seem to get the memories out of their head. God, I pray right now that you will do a supernatural healing of their mind and of their soul and of their spirit. You have forgiven us. We've asked you for forgiveness. We've said our sorry to you. And the second we say it, God, you wipe our slate clean. And we believe that. So I pray that today everybody listening to the sound of my voice will experience a newfound freedom and a newfound joy and this forgiveness that they are walking in because of you and because of what you did on the cross and because you rose from the grave and you defeated death, we get to live a new life. We get to be called a new creation because of what you did. All glory goes back to you. So thank you for forgiving us of our sins. Thank you for seeing past our mistakes.

00:05:21.591 --> 00:05:32.733
And thank you, Father, for forgiving us of our mistakes and forgetting our mistakes. God, you don't hold it against us, so we no longer have to hold it against ourselves. We thank you for this forgiveness.

00:05:32.853 --> 00:06:01.754
We thank you for this redemption. And because of you, we get to be new creations. And in Jesus name we all pray. Amen and amen. So there you have it, your five minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend.
