Counted As Righteous

Counted As Righteous

How does knowing that faith is counted as righteousness influence your daily life?

In today's episode, titled "Counted as Righteous", Lauren Alessi, our host for the week, dives into the powerful message from Genesis 15:6. This verse reminds us that Abraham's belief in the Lord was counted to him as righteousness. It's a beautiful testament to the power of faith—something we all need, especially when life's challenges seem insurmountable. Just like the mustard seed, even the tiniest bit of faith can move mountains!

Join us as we end with a heartwarming prayer, asking for a renewed sense of faith and blessings over our week.

You're listening to the my morning Devotional podcast, episode 1081. Today's Devo is called counted as righteous. Hey there. We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:22.126 --> 00:00:33.088
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Hello, everybody, and happy Monday.

00:00:33.183 --> 00:01:13.774
I will be your host for this week. My name is Lorna Lessie, and if it's your first time tuning in or your thousandth time tuning in, welcome to the show. We are glad to have you on. So let's just jump right into the word today. We are reading from Genesis 15 six, and it says, and he believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness. So first I do want to say I am reading from the ESV version. I know sometimes we get questions on which version are you reading from? And it can be very interesting how much it sounds different depending on the version. So I like to read from english standard Version, the ESV Bible. So in Genesis 15 six, it's talking about Abraham.

00:01:13.902 --> 00:02:47.020
And when God made a great big promise to Abraham, it said that Abraham believed the Lord, that God counted it to him as righteousness. And I just look at the story, and I'm actually dedicating this whole week of podcasts and episodes to faith because I know I personally need it right now. I hope that when you're listening to it, this blesses you, and this may be something you need this coming week or in the future. But I know that it's crazy to think that sometimes we have this childlike faith and we believe in things we don't see, or we're holding on to promises that we haven't seen. We're holding on to God's promises that we've heard in his word, but we maybe haven't seen come to pass in our life. But here's what we can know, that in God's word, faith is counted as righteousness. Faith is counted as a good deed. God loves it when we have faith in him. I know. I struggle to believe in God's promises, and his promises are found in his word. I think I'm human to say that. I know if you're listening and you're like, yeah, I agree. I think it's just because we're human, and it's not easy to go day by day and holding on to this massive amount of faith. We have our ups and downs. We have days where we're like, God's going to do it, and I 100% believe it. We have days where it gets really, really tough. And I hope to talk about that more over this week with everybody listening. And I hope that it blesses you. But here's what we know, that when we believe in God, despite all that we see, despite all that we hear, when we choose to have faith, when we choose to believe the Lord, he counts it to us as righteousness. So hold on to that promise today. Hold on to that belief.

00:02:47.139 --> 00:02:58.039
And even if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, remember, even that faith can move mountains. That is enough for God. So why don't we just end today in a beautiful prayer?

00:02:58.379 --> 00:03:01.508
Dear Lord, thank you so much for this beautiful week.

00:03:01.563 --> 00:03:45.419
God, I just pray right now for everybody listening, whether they're struggling with very little faith, God. Or whether they just need this extra cherry on top. God. Because they are just so on fire and so full of faith for what you're going to do in their life, God. Wherever they stand on that spectrum, God, I just pray an extra amount of faith and blessing into their lives. God, I pray that as we start this week, God, you start pouring into me, start pouring into others, God, what you're going to do in us this week. I pray that you just start already speaking, seeking your promises over us, promises that you have plans to prosper us and not to harm us. Plans to give us a hope in a future. We thank you for your word. We thank you for your promises. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

00:03:46.280 --> 00:03:49.759
So there you have it. Your five minute daily dose of heaven.
