You're listening to the my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1107. Today's Devo is called acts of God.

00:00:07.198 --> 00:00:22.077
He speaks to you. Hey there. We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:22.213 --> 00:00:33.338
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Good morning, everybody, and happy Tuesday.

00:00:33.514 --> 00:02:05.560
My name is Stephanie, and if you have just tuned in to our my morning devotional, then this week I am devoting our whole week to the acts of God. Yesterday, we touched on how he hears you. Well, today I want to share on how he speaks to you. Now, how God speaks to you is a very, very big topic that you can't sum up in five minutes. So I'm going to take a different approach of how God speaks to you. If you have more questions about this topic, we would love to get your feedback and you can tap the link in the description to text us any questions. And we would love to walk this out with you. But today I want to talk about how God speaks to you through the word of God. And Jeremiah 33 three. It says, call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. If you want to know the voice of God, the greatest advice I can give you is to start reading the word of God. The Bible is already God's voice written down for you. And hearing the voice of God is a beautiful experience which all of us can train our ears to hear and train our spirits to hear. But before we get there, you have to get into the practice of diving into the word of God first. Even today.

00:02:05.640 --> 00:02:38.069
I've been a Christian almost my whole life. I started hearing the voice of God when I was around 1819, regularly. But to this day, if I'm confused about a matter, and I need to hear God speak to me, I first go to the word of God. I go to the Bible. Something practical that you could start doing is every day read one proverb for the whole month. Proverbs has 31 chapters, so that's one chapter a day for the entire month.

00:02:38.449 --> 00:03:33.229
And that will give you direct instruction on how to move forward in a matter. The word of God. It is God breathed, it was written by man, but it was God inspired. So if you want God to speak to you, go to his word. I promise you, you will get so much wisdom and so much direction from the Lord. And something beautiful starts to happen. When you read your Bible on a daily basis. You know you have to see your heart and your spirit as a garden bed for the word of God. And every verse that you read is a seed that goes into your spirit. And if you continue to read the Bible every single day, you're planting seeds of God's word in your heart. And if you continue to do that, and if you continue to ask the Lord, speak to me.

00:03:33.569 --> 00:03:37.169
Something will happen where you'll be going about your day.

00:03:37.289 --> 00:04:46.451
You'll be having a conversation with someone, and they'll ask you for advice, they'll ask you for direction. And then out of nowhere, in your mind, the scripture will come to your thoughts and you'll be able to tell somebody, hey, the Lord loves you because his word says, for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son. You'll be able to say, work hard, because proverbs says this about working hard and being diligent. Over time, those seeds that you have planted in your heart of scripture will begin to sprout and they'll begin to grow a garden of God's word in your spirit and in your mind. And in moments of need, your spirit will bring forth those scripture verses for you to learn from, for you to glean from. And it's because you've spent every day wrapped up in the word of God, in the voice of God. And what's beautiful is when God does start to speak to you, you'll be able to confirm if that's the Lord's voice, because that's what scripture says.

00:04:46.636 --> 00:05:19.507
One little tad bit of advice. If you heard something from Goddesse, if you hear the voice of God daily, immediately go and compare it to scripture. If it goes against what scripture says, it probably wasn't the voice of God. It was probably just an idea you had in your head. It's happened to me. It's happened to all of us. But if it does align with scripture, God is speaking to you. You're developing a living relationship and conversation with God, and that is a beautiful thing to be proud of.

00:05:19.653 --> 00:05:41.351
But it all starts with the relationship with the word of God. So that's my encouragement to you today. If you want to hear God speak to you, let him speak to you through the Bible, through scripture. And today, start reading proverbs, start reading psalms, start reading Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, the words of Jesus Christ.

00:05:41.536 --> 00:05:56.199
And get that into your spirit and start believing that it's planting seeds of scripture in your heart that'll grow into a garden of God's voice for you to use every single day. Let's pray.

00:05:56.579 --> 00:06:56.100
God, we thank you for your scripture. We thank you that you speak to us in scripture and outside of the Bible. And we thank you that you guide us with your voice. We are confident that we hear your voice on a daily basis in your scripture and in our prayer time. So, Father, we trust the leading of the voice of the Holy Spirit. We trust your guidance that whatever you tell us, whatever you speak to us, and if it aligns with the scripture, we will trust and hold on to your word. And we thank you that you tell us great and unsearchable things that we do not know. We thank you for your voice. We thank you that you speak to us, continue to speak to us on a daily basis so that we can start a growing relationship with you of conversation where you guide us in your wisdom and in your love and in your mercy, and in Jesus name we pray.

00:06:56.180 --> 00:07:18.339
Amen. So there you have it. Your five minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals and empower you to take on your day.
