You're listening to the my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1091. Today's Devo is called fourth times the Charm. Hey there.

00:00:11.221 --> 00:00:40.670
We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Well, good morning and happy Monday, everybody. It is Gabby Alessi, your host for this week, and I cannot believe we have made it to the fall.

00:00:40.789 --> 00:01:02.804
Guys, I can smell the fall leaves in Miami not changing. I can smell the artificial cinnamon as I walk through whole foods. My mom has definitely already set up all of the fall decor in our house, so it's real. Guys, we are here. Turn on Hallmark fall channel or put on the Gilmore Girl fall episodes because it is time.

00:01:02.892 --> 00:01:47.061
Let's get our pumpkin spice lattes ready to go, and let's dive into the word of God. This morning we're going to be reading from Joshua one seven. And all week I'll be reading from the NIV version, but this is Joshua one seven. It says this, be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you. Do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. I have so resonated with this verse, and it has been stirring in my heart, in my own devotional. I just felt like reading the book of Joshua recently, and no spiritual reason, nothing led me to it. I just wanted to dive into this chapter of the Bible, Book of the Bible.

00:01:47.245 --> 00:01:50.813
And this verse in the first chapter.

00:01:50.941 --> 00:02:39.515
If you don't read it, if you haven't read it before, it actually says the words, be strong and courageous four times. If the Bible is repeating something that many times, then obviously it's pretty important to us. So I've been reading it. It's been resonating within me, and I was just really challenged with this whole verse of, you know, Lord, whatever I'm working towards, whatever I'm in, whatever I'm up against, God, I'm believing you're calling me to be strong and courageous. And I love in verse seven, it says, be strong and very courageous. Mind you, in verse six, it was the first time he's saying, be strong and courageous. Verse seven, be strong and very courageous. So obviously, if there's an emphasis on this, then we should be listening. Maybe you're like me. And maybe you're up against a battle and you're up against something that you don't know if you can handle it.

00:02:39.638 --> 00:03:11.322
Maybe the load is really heavy. Maybe the giant in your life is too big for you, and you're kind of having this mental battle of God, can I handle this? Lord, are you sure this is for me? God, are you sure that I can walk into this next season? I feel like this is too much for me. And I'm just going to declare over to you, over you today. Be strong and courageous. Be strong and very courageous. The Bible says it two more times after that. So I'm going to say it two more times. Be strong and courageous.

00:03:11.506 --> 00:04:36.653
And one more time, be strong and courageous. If you are feeling weak, if you're feeling scared, if you're feeling nervous about what's next for you, be strong and courageous in this season. And I love how after this, in verse seven, it says here, don't turn from it, meaning the law. Meaning the things that God has given you. The things that Moses gave you. Remember, it's saying the law that my servant Moses gave you. What is that law? The ten Commandments. It's what God gave to Moses for the people. So he's saying, don't turn from the law. Don't turn from the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. So obviously, the picture here is this, be strong and courageous. Keep your eye on the prize. Don't listen to what people on the right are telling you. Don't listen to the advice on your left, what people are telling you on your left. You know what you gotta do. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Keep your ears to the word of God. Be strong and courageous. And God is gonna walk you through some seasons and some doors that only he can open, but he's gonna give you the strength and the courage that only he can give you. Amen. So come on, family, let's pray over you today. Whatever you're facing, Jesus name, we just come to you right now. Lord, we thank you for today. We thank you for this Monday, Lord, what we're about to walk in the new seasons, the new doors that you're opening up to us, God, we thank you for them.

00:04:36.781 --> 00:05:35.420
But, Lord, in this season, there's a lot of fear. There can be a lot of intimidation, Lord, and a lot of weakness, God, that we might be intimidated by. But right now, God, you have given us the command of being strong and courageous in this next season. Not being distracted by what's around us not being distracted by what the media might be saying or what our families might be saying or what our jobs might be saying. God. Or what the economy might be saying. No, Lord, we're going to keep your word. We're going to keep your law. We're going to keep our eyes on you. And, Lord, you've given us everything we need to tackle this season, so we thank you for it. In Jesus name, amen. So there you have it. Your five minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend.
