You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1173. Today's Devo is called A New Thing in 2025. Hey there. We're the Alessi's, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.743 --> 00:01:34.947
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning and happy New Year and happy Wednesday. I am so excited to be here with you guys this morning. So excited to kick off 2025 together. My name is Allison. I'm the founding host of My Morning Devotional and I am so excited to kick off 2025. I said that four times because it is a new year and we are going to be In Isaiah, chapter 43, verses 18 and 19 today. And it says, forget the former things, to do, not dwell on the past. See, I'm doing a new thing now. It springs up. Do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. And I label today's evil a new thing in 2025. And I love this verse and I love everything about new beginnings and new years, even in the middle of a weekday, because we feel like sometimes we have to wait until Monday to get things started. And today's Wednesday and it's a new thing and it's a new year and God can do so much. And I love that he says, forget the former things, do not dwell on the past.

00:01:35.084 --> 00:03:17.376
If there's one thing that Jesus did when he took his life on the cross and then went down into the grave and resurrected three days later is that he took our shame with him. And so we don't have to dwell on the past mistakes of our lives. We don't have to dwell on the past shortcomings. We don't have to dwell on the things that happened in 2024 that we are ashamed of. We're upset about any of that. All of that is already in the past. All of that went into the grave with him. And we get to live a new life every day. So although today is a new year, it's also a new beginning. It's a new day. And God promises us new mercies every day. So this is kind of all one beautiful season to just forget the past, don't dwell on it, and make way for the new. So God is doing a new thing in us in 2025 and we just have to have the posture in the eyes open to see it, to perceive it. It says here he's making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Not everything is butterflies. Not everything is awesome. Some things in life are really hard. But he makes a way in the wasteland. So wherever you are today, whatever you're doing, I hope you're celebrating this new Year. You're probably not working and if you are, we pray that you have a great day at work. But enjoy it with your loved ones. Keep your posture on the Lord. See where he is opening new things for you. Look for his fingerprints and then come tomorrow, ready to tackle on a new year. It is Wednesday, so I wouldn't wait until Monday to get your goals in order. I would already have a vision for your life. I would already think about what God has deposited in your spirit over the last couple of weeks.

00:03:17.527 --> 00:04:16.778
It is now when we start to really dream about what this year can be and there's no reason to wait till Monday. So get your goals in order. Get your vision in order. God is doing a new thing this year and we are so excited to witness it with you. So the prayer for today Father God, we thank you for this new year. We thank you that you're doing a new thing in us. We thank you for the dreams that you're depositing, for the goals that we are going to walk through. And God we ask for, just strengthen it. We thank you for everything that you do in us and through us and for us. We thank you for the roofs over our heads. We thank you that in this new year we have life, we have breath and we are excited to tackle on the days ahead. So we're not waiting till Monday to get our things in order because you're doing a new thing today. And we thank you. We love you and we pray this in your Son's mighty name. Amen. So there you have it.
