You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1145. Today's Devo is called Best Gift. Hey there. We're the Alesses, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:21.289 --> 00:00:54.332
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Friday. My name is Rachelle Alessi, and it was amazing being with you this entire week. But today we still have one more devote and I'm really, really excited for this one today because it is really close to heart and is. I'll be very honest with you, it's not an easy subject to just talk about because it's something that you have to experience deeply.
00:00:54.509 --> 00:01:27.911
And sometimes explaining your experience to somebody, it's a little hard because how amazing is felt that you almost don't even have the words for it. And that's why I wanted to call this episode the best gift. Because when somebody comes and they just surprise you or do something for you and they just give you this amazing gift, you almost, you're trying to explain it to somebody, but you almost had to say, you just had to be there to fully get the emotion in my face, to fully even feel what it felt like to be in that room and experience that.
00:01:28.102 --> 00:02:14.896
And so I want to preface it this way, because this best gift that we're going to talk about, every single one of you can experience, maybe some of you have already experienced it, and now you have experienced it so amazingly that you want to share with others. It might be even the reason why you found this podcast, because you wanted now to get this gift and make sense of it and apply it to your everyday life. And so because of that, I want you guys to know that this is a gift that you all can experience. And so in Romans 6, the last verse, verse 23, says, for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
00:02:15.070 --> 00:03:37.229
This verse, it is so, so powerful. And I love that this is how this chapter ends. Because the reality of life is that God gave us the best gift and it's a free gift. It's not a gift that cost you and I something. It's a gift that God gave freely for us because he loved us so much. And, guys, this is a gift that we all need to be thankful for and that is the reason we're bringing it up in the season of thanks. Because without this gift, you and I would not be here today. Without this gift of eternal life, we could not experience an amazing life here on earth, but even most importantly, an eternal life in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ. We are promised to have a life here on earth, but even a better life in heaven. As a Christian, death is not our end. Death is just now the beginning of the eternal life with Christ. This week we talked about experiencing the Lord and thanking him and praising him and being in his presence here on earth. But this gift allows us to do all of that praising and thanking God in His actual front of Jesus, in His presence, where he dwells, where he lives.
00:03:37.396 --> 00:04:28.665
We're going to get to do that as Christians one day. We're going to get to rejoice in his presence, see the beautiful face of God in heaven. And that is a gift that Christ came here on earth, died for us, so we can experience that free gift as Christians. Death is not our end, is not our defeat. Death is just kind of like the pause to what is next in our lives. It's the graduation to something better here on earth. Some of us might be experiencing death in the sense that we're not living a free life. We're not living with Christ. We might be living in sin. And the Lord here on earth wants to tell you, you can live a free life here on earth as well. You can live a beautiful life, full of purpose, full of joy here on earth.
00:04:29.004 --> 00:05:46.805
We don't have to wait to get to heaven for that. And that is the gift that God has given us. He came and died so we can experience a beautiful life our entire lives here on earth and also in heaven. So I just pray today that if you've never prayed that salvation prayer or you have never experienced that gift that we were talking about, I want to pray a prayer today that is a prayer that connects you with Jesus Christ, that makes Jesus the Lord of your life, that makes him your everything. And you get to receive now this gift of eternal life. And now you get to experience a full life with Jesus Christ. So right now, if you want to experience this gift, just repeat this prayer after me. Say, dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me today. I want to have a relationship with you, Jesus, come into my heart, forgive me of my sins. And from this moment forward, I will do my best to live a life that is pleasing to you in Jesus name. Amen.
00:05:47.504 --> 00:06:35.404
What if we all just get a moment to celebrate? Every single person that actually prayed this prayer for the first time. But also, if you have prayed this prayer, let's just thank the Lord right now because he has given us a wonderful gift. And because of that gift, we get to live a beautiful life. Thank you guys so much for joining us this week. I hope that this week blessed you and we cannot wait for next week as we continue on the theme of gratitude. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. We pray that your latte is strong, but your love for Jesus is stronger.
