Cling to What is Good

Cling to What is Good

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read Romans 12:9-13 which says, "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.  Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.  Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual passion, serving the Lord.  Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.  Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality."

"Don't get me wrong, opinions are healthy. God gave us free will so that we can exercise our rights to form our own opinions, but mainly so that we can willingly love and serve Him. He doesn't need to force us to love Him.

But, our love needs to be sincere. Meaning when someone states an opinion that pulls on your strings, remember to do as this verse says. Cling onto what's good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourself.

Meaning put up your cross and learn when it's okay to respectfully back out of a debate. Even when you think that you are right. Learn to apologize first. Learn to end the conversation where it has to end, even if it means you don't get to say the last word.

We have one goal here on earth. To love and serve our creator. We do that by loving others, sincerely. We do that by practicing this verse: Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.  Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality."
