You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1200. Today's Devo is called Complete Goodness. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Well, we've officially made it to the 1200th episode. 1200, 1200, whatever episode of my Morning Devo. Give it up for yourselves. Give it up for all of the listeners to the whole podcast and the team here. This is a milestone and I'm just so proud of, of everything that we've accomplished up to this point. And I want to encourage you. I'm Gabby, your host, by the way. I always forget to say that, but I want to encourage you that if you have stuck around for this long, maybe you started listening from the beginning. You've been listening for the last year now. Whatever it is, maybe you've hopped on just until the thousandth episode. Well, you have spent a lot of time in the presence of God, and that is something that will change you from the inside out. So let this be your encouragement to stay connected and stay consistent. Every time we get on here, every time we listen and we. You put this episode on, you are surrounding yourself in the presence of the Lord, and that is the best way to start your day. Today we're gonna be talking about complete goodness. Now, I love this, and I'm going to kind of break this down a little bit, and we're going to be

00:01:41.602 --> 00:02:06.703
4. And I really do love Genesis 1. I've kind of fallen back in love with the story of creation. Because what you find in Genesis 1 is that the more you look into this chapter and you look in creation, you learn more and more about God. Now, a lot of times for us when we look at creation, we learn about and we. What sticks out to us is the actual creation.

00:02:06.831 --> 00:02:35.241
When I believe, when we look at creation, it should explain and give us insight into the Creator. And so there's some or there's a really cool characteristic that we learn about the Creator, God himself in Genesis 1, the whole chapter. So I'm just gonna read a little bit of this and then I'm gonna walk you through a couple of the verses here. So it says this, in the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth. Now the earth was formless and empty. Darkness was over the surface of the deep.

00:02:35.306 --> 00:02:57.572
And the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, let there be light. And there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. Now, what I love about this passage of Scripture and this whole entire chapter of Genesis 1 is that God repeats a word seven times.

00:02:57.756 --> 00:04:08.909
If you were to read all of Genesis 1, which I encourage you to do later tonight, maybe before you go to sleep, read through the story of creation one more time and highlight in your Bible how many times God uses the word good. God saw it was good. God saw the light was good. God saw that the people were good. Whatever it was, he says it seven times. Now, if you're a believer and you, you know what numbers tend to mean and how God uses numbers, you would know that this number 7 equals completion. The number 7 signifies completion in God. And what this shows us because he's using the word good seven times. What we can take from this, this passage is that God is completely good. Like we said, if we're looking at creation to find out more about the Creator, if we're looking at the Word of God, this week I said it. You know, the Word of God should transform us. We should read the Word and not look at how it should bless us. We should read the Word and try to learn more about the Lord and be transformed by that, right? So if we're looking at the story of creation, what we see and what we learn is that God is completely good.

00:04:09.449 --> 00:04:31.910
God is fully good. God doesn't need to be better. God doesn't need to improve year to year. You know, we need to get better, but God doesn't. We need to, to advance every year and, and to grow every single year. But God doesn't. God is completely good. And what that shows us is that he is everything we need at all times.

00:04:32.529 --> 00:04:43.029
I just love that thought. God's completely good. He is complete goodness. And if we need goodness in our lives, if we need the goodness of God, all we need to do is just get closer to Him.

00:04:43.569 --> 00:04:54.137
So I hope this whole week challenged you. I think if you go through every single one of the episodes this week in the verses, they're all kind of scattered, but they all kind of have the same theme.

00:04:54.314 --> 00:05:31.298
Let's remain in Christ. Let's stay silent and submitted to him, and let him work. Let's walk in step and delight in the Word of God, and let's work hard for him, do everything in our lives for the glory of God because God is complete goodness and the closer we get to him the better or the gooder. It's not a word but the gooder we become. Lord, we thank you for today. We thank you for your goodness God. You are complete goodness. You are not lacking anything and you complete us Lord.

00:05:31.394 --> 00:06:05.531
And so I just pray that in our day to day we can just look for your goodness. We can find your goodness and you can show us your goodness more and more. If we need goodness in our life, you are right there ready to give it to us. So we thank you for it. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. 00:06:05.636 --> 00:06:10.220
