You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1230. Today's Devo is called Dear Friend.
00:00:08.000 --> 00:00:26.211
Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven.
00:00:26.376 --> 00:01:14.965
This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Happy Friday, everybody. I hope you are having a wonderful Friday. And if it's your last day at work, or if you're today working from home, whatever today looks like for you, I pray you are living it to your best. I truly believe Fridays are the best day of the week, so I hope you believe that too. Okay, so again, my name is Lorna Lessi. We are reading out of the book of Proverbs this week, and we are coming in with a strong finish. And to be honest, I'm gonna keep this one short and sweet because I want to pray this as a blessing over you. I'm gonna recap it and then just sort of speak this blessing over you because I think it encompasses what proverbs and how God views wisdom. I think it just encompasses it perfectly. So again, it's called Dear Friend.
00:01:15.037 --> 00:01:22.519
We've had a lot called Good Friend, Good Friend, again Dear Friend, because Proverbs is all about spe speaking to a friend.
00:01:22.640 --> 00:02:06.500
And I think it's that friend side of God that we get to see. That's so beautiful. So we are reading out of Proverbs 3, 21 through 26. Again, out of the message version, I usually read out of esv. If you've been listening to this podcast, I constantly say religiously, oh, esv, esv. But for this week, I decided to do the message version. Okay, 21, 26, chapter three. Here's what it says. Dear Friend, guard clear thinking and common sense with your life. Don't for a minute lose sight of them. Them being clear thinking and common sense. I think we all know a few people who need to keep those in the front of their mind. Let's continue.
00:02:06.620 --> 00:02:31.840
They'll keep your soul alive and well. They'll keep you fit and attractive. You'll travel safely. You'll neither tire nor trip. You'll take afternoon naps without a worry. You'll enjoy a good night's sleep. No need to panic over alarms or surprises or predictions that doomsday's just around the corner. Because God will be right there with you. He'll keep you safe and sound.
00:02:32.659 --> 00:03:34.949
I absolutely love this verse because these are the little things in life that we think God doesn't think about. That we think God doesn't care about. You'll take afternoon naps without a worry. You'll enjoy a good night's sleep. God absolutely cares about these things. God wants you to have these things. So here's how I'm going to close out this week's devotional and here's how I'm going to close out this podcast. I'm going to pray for you, but I'm going to speak a blessing over you. So listen up, dear friend. I pray you go guard clear thinking and common sense with all your life. I pray that not for a minute do you lose sight of them. I pray that they keep your soul alive and well. I pray that they keep you fit and attractive. I pray that you travel safely when you're on your way to work, when you're on your way to school, when you're on your way to church. I pray that you'll neither tire nor trip. I pray that you take afternoon naps without a word and that you enjoy a good night's sleep.
00:03:35.289 --> 00:04:42.918
I pray that there's no need to panic over alarms, surprises or predictions that doomsday is just around the corner or even anxieties, things that you're worrying about that keep you up at night. I just pray that there's no need to panic over them. Why? Because God will be right there with you. I pray that you see God right there with you. That you feel God right there, there with you. Because he is keeping you safe and sound. Lord, we just pray this blessing and we call it into existence for every person listening. Not just in this room as we record this podcast, but people that are listening to it in their car, in their homes, in their kitchens, with their families. We just pray this blessing and we call it into existence. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend. Leave a comment or review for us on the app you're using right now. Until tomorrow. We pray that your latte is strong, but your love for Jesus is stronger.
