You are listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1229. Today's Devo is called Don't Assume. Hey there. We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of Heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Happy Thursday everybody. Good morning and I hope you are having an awesome day so far. My name is Lauren Alessi and I am your host for this week. So we will be reading

00:00:40.572 --> 00:01:05.871
5 12 in the Message translation and it says this Trust God from the bottom of your heart. Don't try to figure out everything on your own. Pause. But can I just encourage someone right there? You're never going to understand God. You're never going to know his ways. So just trust him from the bottom of your heart and just come into agreement that you're not going to figure out everything on your own. Let's continue.

00:01:06.055 --> 00:02:05.549
Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go, he's the One who will keep you on track. Let's take another pause there. Proverbs is so self explanatory we just have to break it down. We just have to sulk in it for a moment. We don't have to add our own explanation, but let's listen to this. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go, he's the One who will keep you on track. And it reminds me of that other verse. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he will make your path straight. So if you're wondering about what next step to take, what next move to make, then listen for God in everything you do, everywhere that you go. Because he's the One that will keep you on track. So just listen for his voice. Let's continue. Don't assume that you know it all. Run to God and run from evil. Let's pause there. Don't assume that you know it all. When it comes to your life, when it comes to God, when it comes to your relationships, you'll never know it all about God. You'll never know it all about the Bible.

00:02:05.629 --> 00:02:56.262
All of us are constantly learning. And when it comes to your life, we need to live a life completely surrendered fully to God. So don't assume that even you know it all about your life. God is still refining and changing and doing things in all of us. So completely surrender your lives to God and don't assume you have it all figured out. Run to God and run from evil. Let's continue. Your body will glow with health. Your very bones will vibrate with life. Who doesn't want that? Let's continue. Honor God with everything you do. Give him the first and the best. Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over. But don't, dear friend, resent God's discipline. Don't sulk under his loving correction. It's the child he loves that God corrects. A father's delight is behind all of

00:02:56.286 --> 00:03:07.638
12 and let us remember this. Sometimes Proverbs can sound again very over and over again telling you what to do.

00:03:07.693 --> 00:03:14.569
Very disciplinary. But it's out of a friend's heart who wants the best for you. It's out of the Lord's heart who wants the best for you.

00:03:15.189 --> 00:03:29.930
And it's the child he loves that God corrects. A father's delight is behind all of this. It's the Lord telling you, hey, don't assume that you know it all. Run to me and flee from evil because he loves you, because he wants the best for you.

00:03:30.229 --> 00:04:05.824
Don't resent God's discipline because he loves you and he wants the best for you. So let's pray. Dear Lord, we just thank you for an awesome week so far. And we thank you for your word that is constantly correcting, constantly disciplining us. And it's not even disciplining God constantly refining us because refining makes us better. God. And we thank you for the book of Proverbs that's always challenging us to be better. God. And I just pray for anyone listening to this who maybe is accepting that challenge of refining them. God accepting the challenge of to step into a new area of wisdom.

00:04:05.872 --> 00:04:42.112
God. I just pray for them right now, Lord, that the enemy, I know he's going to try to use that against them, Lord. But we just pray right now any weapon that the enemy has used for harm against them, we just refute it in the name of Jesus, God and we just pray that you completely refine them to be better and to be the best version of themselves. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. 00:04:42.216 --> 00:04:46.879
