Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Romans 12:12 which says "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."
"My prayer last night, today, and everyday is that God heals the brokenness. I know it’s a prayer many have prayed for many many generations. I can only image the Christians during the Roman Empire prayed the same thing, we can look too Paul for that. I know that people all over the world have prayed the same kind of prayer for generation over generation. Different parts of the world, all praying for one thing, peace and healing.
Yet for generations, we are passed down this book, full of love and full of faith. Even in the darkest of times it has context for us to hold onto. Today I choose to hold onto Romans 12:12. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
I don’t have the answers. But He does. I can’t see the full picture, be He did, and died for us anyway. I don’t know what will happen, but he does. So today, I will be joyful in the hope of a better tomorrow. I will be patient as my country bleeds. As we redefine who we are going to be known for. I will be faithful in prayer. I know where my power comes from. I know who has me protected, I know who watches over me. I know who watches over you.
Our instructions for the time being are simple. Love thy neighbor. Serve thy neighbor. Love each other. 1 John 4:8 says whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. So I am going to love today. I am going to love those around me extra tight. I am going to continue to work on what God has called me to do. Those are the only orders given to me that matter."
