You're listening to My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1144. Today's Civil is called Forever and Ever. Hey there. We're the Alesses, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:21.400 --> 00:01:02.674
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning, everybody. Happy Thursday and welcome back to the podcast. I hope that you guys have enjoyed just waking up every day and being thankful. And today we're going to read Psalm 145, and I want to focus on the first three verses. And they say, I will exalt you, my king, and bless your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised.
00:01:02.795 --> 00:01:24.399
And his greatness is unsearchable. These verses really are almost like grand verses because it's talking about how amazing God is and why we give him thanks and praise him every single day. And I found it interesting that the writer uses forever and ever back to back.
00:01:24.566 --> 00:01:49.411
And it reminds me sometimes when we're kids and we talk about like the friends that you're going to have and you're like, we're going to be the best friends forever and ever. And we're kids and we really don't even have the concept of time. We think forever and ever is like a year. But this was written thousands of years ago. And that is like the forever endeavor that we're talking about.
00:01:49.543 --> 00:02:36.055
That even back then when they said about forever and ever, those words did carry through till this day. That means that that ride or Whether this was 2000 years ago, I wish I knew the exact years, but I'm not that smart. But what I do know is that it's true. This person wrote this down and they're caring till this day. And now these are words that we get to use to praise God forever and ever. And so I want to take it on as a challenge for myself to say these words that I'm reading today. I will memorize them. I will put them close to my heart and carrying them through forever and ever. And that is to bless the Lord every single day.
00:02:36.354 --> 00:02:50.741
It's really that simple. It says here, every day I will bless you and praised your name forever and ever. This just shows that the Lord is worthy to be praised every single day.
00:02:50.932 --> 00:02:57.585
The Lord is worthy to be Praised in the morning, in the middle of the day, at night, every minute of the day.
00:02:57.884 --> 00:03:05.164
And the great thing is that we get to be a part of that. This is not just a responsibility as Christians that we have to do.
00:03:05.205 --> 00:03:34.332
We have to praise the Lord. No, this is what we get to do as Christians. We get to praise the Lord every single day. We have life inside of us to give back to the Lord and to praise him every single day. And part of giving thanks to him, is praising him, is worshiping him, is letting God be the all in our lives. And it's great that thankfulness can also be shown as praising him.
00:03:34.508 --> 00:04:07.100
The key to the presence of God, the key to experiencing all of that God has to offer is thankfulness. And so today we have that key. That's a key that God gave to us. It's not something that we have to ask for, it's something that we already have. And sometimes we forget what that key is. And we're trying to open the door, we're trying to enter the presence of God and we don't know how to. We think we have to read all these verses, we think we have to listen to all this music, we think we have to do all these things.
00:04:07.252 --> 00:04:33.093
And we forget that it's as simple as just thanking God, just entering and saying, lord, I'm entering your presence today by just saying thank you, thank you for this day, thank you for my family, thank you for all you have done and just starting to thank him. And that is the key to the presence of God. And when you are now in that presence, you just completely let go and you start to pray. Praise God for everything that he is.
00:04:33.228 --> 00:05:21.175
Because it's our privilege to worship God every single day. So let's pray, Father. God, right now, in this moment, we are going to enter your presence with thanksgiving. We say, father, thank you, thank you for all the amazing things that you do. But Father, just thank you for the God that you are, the perfect God, that you are, the omnipotent, all powerful God that you are. We just thank you for who, who you are in our lives. And we promise to spend the next few minutes and hours just praising you, putting everything aside, every distraction aside, and just saying, God, you are worthy to be praised. You're worthy of our full attention right now, Father. No distractions, but just you and us in this moment. In Jesus name we pray.
00:05:21.295 --> 00:05:28.605
Amen. So there you have it, your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
