You're listening to the My Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1189. Today's Devo is called Goals for 2025. Believe. Hey there.

00:00:10.368 --> 00:01:36.156
We're the Alessies, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Happy Thursday, everyone. My name is Stephanie and we're going to continue on in our goals for 2025. I pray that this has motivated you and encouraged you and just met you right where you're at. And if it is, if it has, then let us know. Send us some messages on Instagram. If you're our subscriber, then let us know that you are enjoying these podcasts because we absolutely love sharing our hearts with you all so that you can be motivated in your word daily. So let's dive into it. My fourth goal for 2025 is this. Believe when God says I'm ready, that I'm ready. This is a hard one. So Joshua 6 in the Bible tells the story of Jericho, and we've been covering the story of Jericho throughout the week. And something important to note is that the walls did not fall immediately. The Israelites asked God to lead them in taking over the city of Jericho. And God had an allotted time scheduled for those walls to fall.

00:01:36.308 --> 00:01:43.483
It's not like they just went and asked God, what do we do? We want to take the city of Jericho. And God said, great, here, just have it.

00:01:43.652 --> 00:01:58.048
No, the Israelites had to work for for those walls to fall, but they had to work in the way God wanted them to work. There was a designated time for those walls to fall.

00:01:58.183 --> 00:03:42.990
They had to wait seven days. So I have a really cool story that I wanted to share with you guys about my husband and I and how we met. We met in 2020, but before that there is an interesting thing that happened. My husband was in his 30s, so he was really wanting to get married. And he was waiting and he was praying and waiting on the Lord to bring his wife. Well, my husband's name is Chris and his sister's name is Sarah. And Sarah was praying for Chris and she felt like the Lord had told her that his wife was not ready, that she had to get over a few things and move on from a few things in her past. We did the math later on after she had told us the story. And at that time that she was praying for Chris's future wife, me. I was in the depths of not being able to let go of some things in my past. I had a previous relationship that was really, really hard to let go of, and I couldn't let it go. Well, at the time that she was praying for me without really knowing me, she was praying that I would let go of that past relationship. And sure enough, God had put me in a situation where I finally let it go. And then three months after that happened, I think it was four months after that happened, I met Chris, my future husband. And if I had met Chris a minute earlier, a day earlier, I would not have been ready for it. Listen, you never want what God is bringing you without being ready for it. Just like you never want someone to show up to your house for a party two hours early. Trust me, you want to be ready for when your time comes.

00:03:43.449 --> 00:04:52.995
Also, the value of a thing can't always be appreciated when it's out of time. So it makes us stronger to wait for something. You'll be thankful for that strength and faith when you're on the other side of things. Waiting for it is good for you. It makes you stronger. It raises your faith, and you need to be ready for it when it comes your way. And sometimes we forget that God is a generational God. He was here when our great grandparents were alive, and he's here with us now. And the prayers that we pray today will affect the generations to come. We have to realize that there's a bigger picture to our lives. And here's the takeaway. We trust in God's timing as it is always aligned with a bigger plan. If you're not ready for it now, trust that God is making you ready. And when you are ready, he will answer it at the allotted time. Isaiah 40, 31 says, but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. And they shall walk and. And not faint.

00:04:53.187 --> 00:04:56.947
Let's pray. God waiting is tough.

00:04:57.124 --> 00:05:00.819
Having to wait on you to answer our prayers. It can become.

00:05:00.939 --> 00:05:07.959
It can make us weary. But Father, your Word says that you will renew our strength in the waiting.

00:05:08.379 --> 00:06:07.399
I pray God, that we trust you, that if we are not ready for this, that you are protecting us, that you look out for us as a friend would. And you know that we aren't ready for you to answer our prayer. So we just have to wait on you. And as we wait, you renew our strength. You grow our faith. You create a character in us and a hope in us. And you make us better Christians as we wait on you. And even though it's tough, even though we grow weary, we know that you do this because you love us, because you care for us, and because you have great things planned for us. So we trust you and this is our goal, God. We trust you and we believe in you and we know that you ultimately know when we are ready. So we trust the process. We trust you with our process. And we thank you that you are developing a character in us as we wait. And in Jesus name we all pray.

00:06:07.480 --> 00:06:15.069
Amen and Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today.
