You're listening to the my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1056. Today's Devo is called God exalts. Hey there. We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:21.614 --> 00:01:20.555
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Happy Monday, everybody. I'm here, Stephanie with my sister Gabby. Hello. Hello, everybody. We're gonna have an amazing week with my sister sharing her devotionals, and I'm very excited for what she's about to share. So, Gabby, take it away. Yes. Let's get into it. This was something that I was actually reading in my own personal time, and I'm going through the story of Joseph and kind of breaking down each one of his life seasons. If you want to look at how or look at the seasons of somebody's life and learn from how to handle seasons, I feel like Joseph is a beautiful story to look at because he goes from, like, being at the top to then being in a pit and then being celebrated and then being in a pit and then finally being celebrated. And it's a really good just life to learn from and to glean from.
00:01:20.727 --> 00:02:29.219
And the part that I want to read out of today, it's Genesis 42. And this is where we're seeing Joseph is back in prison. And remember, when he's put in prison, he's. He's actually even exalted in prison, funny enough. And he's put over some of the prisoners to watch over them. And a couple, or while he's in that season of being over the prison, they send a cup bearer. And I can't remember the name, but it's two people that were from the palace they send to prison. Those two men have dreams while they're in prison, and they bring them to Joseph because Joseph, everybody knew Joseph as, like, the dream interpreter. They bring him to Joseph, and Joseph interprets their dreams. The interpretation that Joseph brings to these men comes true. And then the one that ends up surviving, which was the cupbearer, Joseph tells him, when you are taken back into the palace, when you are going to be the cupbearer again with Pharaoh, tell Pharaoh about me. And this is where it's interesting. And I'm going to read into this, this next verse, and I'm going to jump back to this part, but just remember that Joseph wanted the man to remember him.
00:02:29.520 --> 00:02:32.912
Genesis 41 39 through 41 says this.
00:02:33.056 --> 00:02:51.746
Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, since God has shown you all this, there is none so discerning and wise as you are. You shall be over my house, and all my people shall order themselves as you command. Only as regards the throne will I be greater than you.
00:02:51.858 --> 00:03:27.798
This is Pharaoh talking to Joseph. And Pharaoh said to Joseph, see, I have set you over all the land of Egypt. Now, I know today's episode is a little bit different, so I'm going to try to do this as fast as I can because we always do one, um, one verses or a group of verses. But what we see here in Genesis 41 39 through 41 is this, that God exalted Joseph at the right time. At the time, God intended him to be exalted. If man exalted Joseph, he would have been exalted two years prior when the cup bearer was released from prison.
00:03:27.973 --> 00:03:53.439
So at the beginning of this episode, the context was that there was two Mendenna, and the one man was exalted back into the palace and was working in the palace. He was taken from the prison to the palace, and Joseph asked him, remember me? That man forgot about Joseph. Two years passed, and now Joseph is being exalted to the highest rank, to where Pharaoh tells him, hey, other than the throne, you're. It's.
00:03:53.479 --> 00:04:15.638
It's you. You're the guy. You have more power than I do in this land. Anything else, it's all you. And so what we see here in this story is that God exalted Joseph at the right time. No, it's not man that exalts people. It's not pharaoh that exalted him. It's not the cup bearer that exalted him. It's not even his own family. It was God. Amen.
00:04:15.693 --> 00:04:33.512
And this just encouraged me today because we talked about waiting season. We talk about hustle seasons. I'm even in my own season where I'm having to wait on the Lord for some things. And this is an encouragement that I needed that Lord, whether it's a year, two years, three years, ten years, I want to be exalted by God.
00:04:33.576 --> 00:05:56.653
Amen. Man won't exalt me. It needs to come from the Lord. And the timing of the Lord is perfect. And so, just like Joseph, we might feel like we're in prison. We might feel like we're in a pit. We might feel like we're in a season where we are waiting for people to remember us. Yeah, we feel like we're forgotten in this pit. And we're asking those around us, please go and tell others to remember me. It might take you two more years to be remembered, but God sees it all. Amen. And God is waiting for the perfect time to exalt you. So wherever you're at today, wait on God's timing to be exalted. Man doesn't exalt. Man forgets about us, but God exalts us. Amen. And so I hope that encourages you today. And I just want to pray over you right now. Lord, I thank you for the listeners today. I thank you for whatever season that they are in, whether they feel like they're in a prison, a pit, or God, if they're in the palace, Lord, I just pray that you would give them the strength today and remind them, God, that you exalt them. You are in control. And ultimately, Lord, we want you to exalt us, not man. So give us the strength, give us the endurance. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen. So there you have it. Your five minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today. We pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day. If you found value in this devotional, share it with a friend.
