You're listening to my morning devotional podcast, episode 1086. Today's devote is called God is my provider. Hey there. We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.533 --> 00:00:39.409
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Good morning, everybody, and happy Monday. Also, happy Labor Day today for any of you that are listening. We hope that you're having a great, great day.

00:00:39.869 --> 00:01:45.426
We are going to get right into our devo today. My name is Rochelle Lessie, and I'll be your host for this week. And we're actually going to be talking this week about the attributes of God. And I'm excited to share this week because these are things of God that I felt like I've learned to experience because of my relationship with God. And so I've learned them through my relationship. But there is so much more to it that I thought, why not share it this week? And so the verse for today is Matthew 631 through 33. And it says, therefore, do not be anxious, saying, what shall we eat? Or what shall we drink? Or what shall we wear? For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly father knows that you need them all, but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. I love this verse, and even if you read it through many translations, the main point of this verse just stays. And I think in our society and really all of us in our life, we wake up sometimes just worried about all the things that we need.

00:01:45.537 --> 00:01:53.225
When you're young, you worry about job and not having enough money for something, not having enough money for college. Where am I going to go?

00:01:53.418 --> 00:01:57.250
When you grow in seasons, there's always the next level.

00:01:57.329 --> 00:02:26.852
I remember getting engaged and just saying, man, weddings are expensive. And you worry about, how are we going to be able to afford a full on wedding while trying to find a house? And then you have added expenses, and now, and if you have other things to pay, you're like, oh, my gosh, this is so much. And then you go into a new season when you are going to have a baby, and you start to worry about how we going to provide everything that this baby needs.

00:02:26.915 --> 00:03:03.081
And it's kind of like these questions of, what am I going to eat? It's like, how am I going to pay for this or how I'm going to achieve that. I love that this verse says, your heavenly father knows that you need all these things. This convicted me because sometimes we go about life worried about the things that we need. And sometimes if we do that, I wonder what God feels like when we wake up worried about all these things that we need. And instead of just praying about it, we just worry all day or try to take things into our hands and do what we think is best without seeking him.

00:03:03.265 --> 00:03:17.671
Because the Bible says that he knows that we need all these things. So if he knows that we need all these things, that means that he already has provision on the way for all these things.

00:03:17.816 --> 00:03:47.231
That means that for everything that you might be afraid of that you do not have, God already has that for you. And if we would just rewire brains to say, instead of being worried and afraid and anxious about money and just physical things that we do not have, let me remember that God already knows that, which means he already has a plan and he already has provision on the way.

00:03:47.376 --> 00:04:27.882
And so instead of worrying, I'm going to seek his kingdom every day and I know that everything else will be added. So instead of worrying today about what I don't have, I'm just going to seek God. I'm going to give God my all. I'm gonna spend my days doing his work and his will because I know that he knows what I need. And when we just change our mindset that way, our days, our weeks, our months are just different. The way that we approach life is different because we know that God is my provider, my boss, my everything else will never provide the way that God provides for me.

00:04:28.026 --> 00:05:23.091
And even if I cannot see it, I have to remember God already knows it. So because he knows what I need, he already has it coming. And so all I have to do is just seek him with all my heart every single day. So let's just pray. Dear Father God, we just want to thank you for being our provider. Thank you for showing us this attribute of yourself. And I pray right now, father, if there's anybody right now listening that is anxious about, about things to come, things that they do not have, I pray that you show yourself, that you show them this attribute of yours, that it is that you provide for your children, that you love us so much, father, that you know exactly what we need, when we need it and that our prayers are not going to waste. Father, you're listening. And the provision is on the way. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it.
