You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1142. Today's Devo is called Hear My Cry. Hey there. We're the Alesses, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.

00:00:21.800 --> 00:00:32.819
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional podcast. Good morning everybody and happy Tuesday.

00:00:32.906 --> 00:00:58.941
My name is Rachelle Alessi and I get the privilege of being with you this week for my morning devo. And as you know, it is the season of thanks. So we're going to be talking about just being thankful. And today's passage that we'll be reading is Psalm 28. And the verses I want to highlight are 6 and 7. And it says, blessed be the Lord, for he has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.

00:00:59.093 --> 00:02:33.841
The Lord is my strength and my shield. In him my heart trusts and I am helped. My heart exalts. And with my song, I give thanks to him. This entire verse passages, it's wonderful and I encourage you guys that we read these entire verses, but what I chapters, I mean, that we read the entire chapter. But what I love about these verses is that it says that we need to bless the Lord because He has heard us. And I think we all have been in a place where we've almost are crying to God for something, whether it's help or needing something in our lives. And we can all testify that the Lord has heard our cry for mercy, that the Lord has been there and he has answered our prayer. And in return, what we give back to him needs to be our praise and our thankfulness. I love here that this psalmist writes with my song, I give thanks to him. And this just says to me there's something that I get to give thanks to God for. Not my husband, not my friend. There's something that I can give thanks for God for. And what a wonderful place to be where I can be the one to praise God. I can be the one to say thank you, God, that there's something that he has done for me, not for somebody else, but for me, that I get to stand today and say, thank you, Father, for this.

00:02:33.992 --> 00:03:18.320
And if you are the person that might feel like I'm waiting for that moment, don't wait for God to answer your prayer for you to say, now, I can say thank you, start thanking God now. Because when we pray The Lord hears us. This verse is guaranteeing that God hears our prayers. So that means that the moment we've said it, it's in God's ears and now God is at work for it. And so even we haven't seen it answered. It does not mean that it God is not working. It just might be that we're not seeing it right now. But while we wait for a miracle, while we wait for that prayer to be answered, we need to be, we need to start giving thanks for it now.

00:03:18.432 --> 00:03:51.389
Because there is something that we can be thankful for, and that is that God heard us. Whether we have seen it answered or not, we know that the Lord has heard us. So we give thanks to God for always hearing our cry. Let's pray today, Father. God, thank you so much for always being here for your children. Thank you. Because you hear our prayers, you hear our cries, you hear our concerns, you really do hear everything that keeps us up at night, Father, you are always there. These things are not secrets to you, Father.

00:03:51.516 --> 00:04:17.786
You know it all. And so today we say we're just going to give you thanks no matter what. Because we are confident that you hurt us. So we get to say thank you Lord, for something, whatever that is. We are your children and we get the privilege to praise you. We get the honor to praise your name. And so today we give you thanks. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it.
